Actually it's pretty crazy... the $6500 covers ALL transportation and hotel fees... EVERYTHING! I've looked at it.

I am dealing with the same situaton. I have good credit, but I burned up about 5 inquiries to get a loan just in the last week so obviously that hurts my score. Here's a suggestion... obviously if you have a credit score, than you have some credit somewhere. Do you have credit cards? Pay at least 21% of your balance (your score will go up once you have debt below 79% of your limit). Pay off anything you can as quick as you can. Wait 30 days after all of this is done and then check your credit score again, it should have gone up, and you should be in a good position to try again since you will have less debt. If you work as much as you say you do, you should be able to put that money towards your debt. It will be faster than saving for the entire surgery on your own! And DO NOT make any more inquires UNTIL YOU GET YOUR SCORE UP.... I am in the process of doing this right now... the higher the score and the less debt, the better the chance you have of being approved. Good luck!!!

Oh no!!! My insurance just contacted my surgeon and told them he made a mistake and that LapBand is NOT covered under my policy I am soooo mad right now, but I am NOT giving up!!! I am looking into CareCredit as we speak...

Omg I would LOVE if I end up at the end of this with no saggy skin... it's really a concern of mine but if I do, the weight I'll be losing is worth it... gotta pick my battles!! I am definetly hoping to throw on a bikini next summer The other main (physical) concern of mine is that I had a breast reduction in 2005, and I am afraid they're gonna deflate and be saggy I don't mind them being smaller, I just want them to stay nice and perky lol

I am also doing the 6 month diet. I asked my surgeon the same question because I BARELY qualify (BMI 40.5) and I don't want to go down and be denied... he said it's just to prove that you are able to make the lifestyle change and to get yourself as healthy as possible for the surgery to reduce the risk of any complications. When the submit the packet to your insurance, they submit the weight and BMI that qualified you in the beginning, NOT your weight 6 months after. It's also supposed to help shrink your liver so they don't have to try and work around it as much during surgery.

I just googled "free website maker"... there's a ton of them out there!! I used alot of HTML coding though instead of just sticking with the templates. Thanks for checking it out!!!

I have to lose 82 pounds to be at my ideal weight....

Thanks to everyone for the responses!!! I am really glad I came across this site, it's like a support system whenever I need it!! I know this 6 months is going to be hard, but Dr. Baptista told me my goal at this point is to not GAIN... I don't have a specific amount of weight to lose, which does ease the stress a little bit. And like you said, Jane, I know HOW to lose it, I just can't keep it off lol. I am very excited and hope everything keeps falling into place!!! I can not wait until I get to the 132 pounds he told me I will end up being... I don't ever remember being that small lol.

Well I had my appointment today! I met with the doctor and he told me that he wants me down to 132lbs... my starting weight/BMI is 214.5/40.5, so that's 82lbs. I'm amazed that he told me I'm basically carrying around the equivalent to 2 of those big 5 gallon water jugs around all the time for no reason... that's really what threw it all into perspective for me. SO, I have to do a 6 month low carb supervised weight loss program, and I scheduled all of my appointments.... so hopefully when Jan 2010 rolls around, everything will fall right into place!
