  1. Steve - study hard for that psych eval :rolleyes2: - kidding! I was a little freaked out to start with - never had to have someone get inside my head before - but Dr. Sabapathy was been soooo helpful! I've seen the dietician - but he's helped on so many of my questions. Make sure you ask lots of questions.
  2. Hi Mrs. Plumpy! Check out another surgeon in your area that does the LapBand surgery! I didn't go with the first one where I went because I left their seminar feeling like they were just there counting the number of people who attending and calculating the amount of money they were going to make off of us. But, I did learn alot about the procedure. I thought about having the gastric surgery for about 1/2 minute. I've known 3 people who've had it and all have had problems. I personally know 3 people who also have the LapBand and ALL have lost more than 100 pounds. They love it and they are all doing great. If you aren't comfortable with the first surgeon - like I said - check out another. I love my 2nd choice. I'm glad I looked around.
  3. Good Luck Tomorrow! I was on here yesterday for a while just reading - and followed up with my insurance co today - and found out that I just got approved for surgery (not gonna happen till end of August). I know you'll do great! Let us know how things go!
  4. Hi Everyone, I'm a new member in Belton, MO. So excited - just found out today that UHC approved my surgery! :rolleyes2: I have an appt. set up with Dr. Stanley Hoehn with Kansas City Bariatrics on 7/13. They told me that my surgery would be scheduled for sometime at the end of August - or first part of September. I'm very excited. Went to my seminar on 1/27/09. Got all the preapproval testing done in April and have been waiting since then for the surgeons office to submit the paperwork and United Health Care to approve it. Found this time to be very frustrating. About threw in the towel a couple of weeks ago because nothing was moving towards getting this done. Guess I'm more patient than I gave myself credit for. Can't wait for the surgery date to get set so that I can get back on track and get this new journey going. I'll keep you posted on the progress. Best of luck to all of you!
