  1. Hello there! I got by lapband surgery on 7/8/09 and had my first fill on 8/12/09. It was painless. My doctor had me lay on the exam table and he felt for my port and inserted 2.5cc in my band (I have a 14cc band). I had no pain whatsoever. I had no problems afterward but did stick to a liquid diet for 24 hours. I'm scheduled for another fill on 9/16/09. I doing my fills slowly so I don't have any problems. I've lost 24lbs so far and have not felt much restriction yet. Just relax and you will do great! :blushing:
  2. Hello! I was banded on July 8 and have a 14cc band. I got my first fill on 8/13 with 2.5cc. I told my doctor I wanted to go slow because of some the problems I read about regarding too much restriction too soon. My next fill is 9/16 and I am looking forward to it. I've lost 21lbs so far. I'm able to eat just about anything in smaller portions. Glad you started this thread! :w00t:
  3. I told 2 close friends before my surgery on July 7, 2009. I told my husband the day before that I was getting a procedure done to help my weight. I didn't tell him or anyone else because I didn't want them to talk me out of it. It has taken a year to get to my surgery. I'm now three weeks post-op and doing wonderful. I've lost 18lbs so far. Now my whole family knows and are supportive. I'm not at all embarassed and look at it this way -- many people get plastic surgery, breast implants, etc. I got banded for my health. Good luck with your surgery tomorrow.
  4. Hi Paulette: I was banded yesterday 7/8 and had a few belches this morning. I think moving around helped it. I've been walking from the kitchen to living room, etc. Hope this helps!
  5. Hello everyone! I've been a lurking here for sometime and truly appreciate all of the information I've learned. I just had by lap band surgery yesterday 7/8 with Dr. Hoehn in Overland Park, KS. Everything went great! My surgery was at 9:15am and I was home at 4:30pm. I'm sore now, particularly at my port site but am managing the discomfort with tylenol since the lortab makes me nauseated and goofy. I feel so good to finally post and introduce myself. Thanks so much and good luck to all!
