My sister contacted me June 9, 2009 about Lapband after her doctor talked with her about it for herself.  She sent me seminars and information so that I could support her and help her make a decision.  What happened was, while I was supporting her I started to ask myself why not do this for me.  So my sister and I started doing all this research online together for a good 2 weeks.  Online seminars and just reading all that we could about it on several different websites.  On June 10, 2009 we discovered Lapbandtalk.com and started chatting with real people that had had the surgery or were concidering having surgery. Next I went to my Internal Medicine Doc  on June 12, 2009 and asked him what he thought about this for me.  He felt that the pro's out weighed the con's and that I only have more serious health issues around the corner for me if I do not get this weight off.  After all the research, my doc's recommendation, all my sister's help, going to 2 seminars in person, and meeting two different doctors, I have decided to have lapband surgery.  I saw Dr Bhoyrul in San Diego Ca on June 16, 2009 and have a follow up appointment with him July 14, 2009.  This is the first time in many years, I feel like I have hope!  I have been disabled for 21 years and there has not been alot of hope,  just alot of struggling.  I can not have my surgery soon enough!!!  I will be getting my surgery date at my next doctors appointment.  Yea!!!
