Yasmina, 2 things: 1) Depending on how much you need done, they cannot quote a price ( ie: 2 hrs or 4 hrs, staying overnight or going home same day ) 2) If you need a lot done, it may by a procedure that needs to be done in hospital versus clinic. The clinic may just be trying to get all the info they can so you get the best result. But I understand when you feel ready to go, waiting is hard!! I do not know any clinics other than Canada and specifically BC. My note was regarding being careful when leaving the country. I know there are excellent surgeons in Mexico but I worry about complications occuring so far away. Just do lots of research!! I am sure it will be great!! Rhonda

Keep up with the pre-op diet!!! My surgeons at my facility always tell the patients: " Of all the diets you have ever been on, this is the most important one to stay on". It shrinks the liver making it MUCH easier to perform the surgery. We have not had to cancel anyone yet ( maybe because they know they will get caught if we see a fatty liver!! ). It will be so worth it!! Sounds like your mother may be a good support person having a band herself!! Rhonda

New Girl, Congrats on almost reaching your goal!!! :thumbup:Many post operative patients that had weight loss surgery need some plastic surgery. Call around as the pricing is different for each surgeon. You also need to feel comfortable with your surgeon. Just be wary of going to places far away ( like South America) as I personally know a couple of people that had complications and they were a long way from home!!
