I don't why this posted my comments twice, but I edited one out.

    Needing A Jump Start

I am 63 and 4 1/2 years into this process. I lost 70 pounds, but have now gained 20 pounds back. I am really frustrated too because I had my band tightened as much as possible (almost too much) and still am not losing any. I know my eating is part of the problem and I can't do much exercise because I am getting ready for knee surgery March 12. Much of my problem is from the uncomfortable feeling Protein gives me no matter how tight or how loose the band is. Any suggestions on a good menu plan?
  3. I was banded by Dr. Minkin a little over three years ago. I have lost 70 pounds and could have lost more if I would stay on the plan outlined by Dr. Minkin. I love this man - he is great at his job and knows that if I go to an appointment with less than the desired results, it does no good to lecture. He never makes me feel guilty which I appreciate because I can do that to myself quite well thank you. If I was considering having the band done again, I wouldn't hesitate one minute and I wouldn't let anyone else do it but Dr. Minkin.

    Ready To Give Up

I related to alot of what you are saying. I also have a tendency to eat the "wrong" things. I asked my doctor to loosen my band so I could eat protein without feeling so sick and that has seemed to help a little although I still enjoy those slider foods. I am working on mental conversion right now since I have developed a sweat tooth worse than before and so far haven't gained, but have maintained at a 70 pound loss. Without eliminating the shakes, etc., I don't think I will reach my goal weight so I really have to develop a new attitude. The summer is very hard because of our traveling and eating out so much.
  5. I have been a patient of Dr. Minkin's since last October. I had my lapband surgery April 1. I am extremely pleased with the professionalism and kindness I experienced with Dr. Minkin. Although it is still relatively early in my process, I am pleased with the outcome and feel (for the first time in a long time) hopeful that I can get control of my weight. I am thankful that someone like Dr. Minkin decided to get involved with this procedure.
