    This Pain!

My suggestion that worked for me,is to hunch over in a ball,if you can, like a cannon ball into the swimming pool and rock. When I did that I spent the next 30 minutes passing gas. I know it sounds funny, but it helped out so much I didn't have the gas pain 3 days after surgery.
  2. I just went thru the similar situation.. I was banded on June 2nd. I had so much restriction was taking me 45 minutes to eat anything. Water wasn't even going down. I went to the Dr. after 4weeks of that..he emptied the band. Now I am doing good and weight loss has slowed,(boohoo) but it is still coming off steady enough that I am happy and I can eat something...
  3. I was banded on June 2nd. Apparently I was too tight, because i couldn't eat much of anything. It took me 45 min to eat and I was dropping the weight at a rate of 1lb a day until I went to see the Dr. and he emptied the bad.. Now I can eat something and even drink water which was getting stuck from time to time. I am losing about 1lb every 2 days now, but the key is protein. I still drink the shakes and intake about 120+ grams a day and the weight is shedding nicely. I started walking on the treadmill at the gym twice a day and I notice that the weight went to about 1lb every 3 days , however, I found that the measurements were coming down. So just stick in there ladies and gents.. No matter what its coming off this time.. We have the tools and we will build it better and stonger.... Goood Luck
  4. I was banded on June 2nd. I went all the way to July 15th suffering not being able to keep much of anything down. It would take me 45min to 1 Hour to eat 4oz of food and I was chewing so much I was grinding my teeth. Good thing is that I was never hungry (positive side to everything..LOL) Finallly I went in for my first checkup and told the Doc he said No you should have called me earlier. They removed all the saline and now I can eat some but am still never hungry..Take it from me the fact that you are catching this so early is awesome.. Good Luck .

    Post-Op Blues

Hey Lindsaaaaaaaaaaay, Glad you actually went thru with it! I got banded on June 2nd as you know and I am doing ok. I feel full all the time, but I am used to all the liquids. I did the liquid diet for a full week before the operation so that helped me alot. I am feeling the same way some of you guys are, I am having pains but I don't know what it actually causing the pain. As of today pains are subsiding but I don't go to the bathroom much at all. I am always drinking Crystal Lite I think that keeps me constantly full. Glad to have so many companions that did this at the same time. Happy to be part of this group! Don't give up guys. Pain will come and go, But this time Skinyness is forever!!!. LOL

I need someone to talk to

Ok Lindsay you can do this. Its June 4th. Two days after surgery, Not that hard to follow the diet. I thought it would be harder. I freaked out the Dr when I woke up from surgery. He asked how I felt I said I wanted a twinkie, couldn't help myself, lol, I am all good tho. A little pain or soreness i should say. Surprisingly enough, I havn't taken any pain medication since the hospital yesterday. I even drove myself home. So no worries. You can do it. Hit me up if you have any questions. I'm in bed. Thinking I am gonna milk it. See if all the attention my girl is giving me will keep going. LOL. don't tell.. Ok. anyway. Here is to being thin and walking shirtless on the beach.

I need someone to talk to

Ok so today is 6/3 and believe it or not I am posting this from my hospital bed. It has been 24hrs since the surgery. All is ok!!!! Yeaaay!! So Lindsay here it is from me to you. Ill tell you the story. I showed up on 6/2 at 7AM earlier than what I was supposed to, they did the paperwork and I was upstairs getting into the gown by 720AM. Then they asked a multitude of questions over and over again. Shaved my belly.lol. And then about 745 gave me an injection along with putting an IV on me. The injection was a muscle relaxer. About 8AM they gave me another injection with a blood thinner, in the belly, that kinda hurt, approx 820AM Dr Came in and did final check with me and about 830 they rolled me into the surgery room. They started talking to me and before I knew it I woke up 1hr and half later. A little groggy but ok. Not much pain either, I knew I was sore tho. Also, side note, I had to mess with the DR He asked If I was ok, I told I would be after a Twinkie. All the nurses started going OMG,,I said. Just kidding and they all laughed..the nurses and Dr were great. They took good care of me. The Catheter they put in will make it hard to move at first but once its out your good to go. I have been walking around for awhile now. So thats it in a nutshell. Trust me I feel good, especially knowing that this time next year.. I will be shirtless on the beach..LOL, Well if you have any questions hit me up. Ill be around....lots of luck to those of you who are getting banded soon and thanks to all of those who have come before for all the advice..

I need someone to talk to

:thumbup:I so totally know how you feel. I go to surgery tomorrow 6/2. It is currently 4:47Pm where I am in NYC and I have yet to hear from them the time of the surgery. I am not "Freaking" out but I am stressing myself. Part of me is having second thoughts. The other part of me cant wait to go Shirtless at the Beach.. Yippeee,,,LOL. I am still trying to figure out how to get to and from the hospital. Being a man, I told them I would just drive myself to and from, trying to be all "mucho macho" about it.. LOL. well they told me they wouldn't let me leave till someone picked me up,, No one knows I am doing this and I have kept it a secret for the whole process. But I have decided "I AM GONNA DO IT AND BE HAPPY". So I do understand the anxiety your going thru, but try what I have been doing. Imagine yourself on the beach and all eyes on you, Couple of Wolf calls and a Wow... And That motivates the heck out of me. All will be Good.. So here is to Taking the Plunge..... Head First....hahaha.. Happy Losing
