  1. For me it was really fast. I went to a seminar that told you all about the surgeries in April 08, decided the band was what i wanted in May 08 during which that time I got the approval from my doctor, the psych eval, bloodwork and all that. Then in June I started the pre-op classes my surgeons required and completed those at the end of july. after that I was able to talk my surgeons into setting my surgery date for middle of August that way I could heal before classes started, if I wasnt able to do that i woulda had to wait till winter break! lol so for me it all went pretty quick.
  2. Well good for you!! I had my surgery the second week in August. Its been going VERY slow.. but its starting to get better  Good luck with those last 20-25 lbs
  3. Hey Im pretty sure you were in my pre-op class. hows it going for you??
  4. I kept a pretty positive attitude. Even though it took forever to reach the restriction I at least didnt gain weight. Every month when I went into the doctor I lost 1-3lbs so at least I was loosing something! you gotta have a positive attitude about that!!
  5. Hey everyone! I'm a college student, I have had the band for 9 months now and after having a few difficulties I have finally hit my sweet spot. Has anyone else noticed they needed alot in their band before they felt restrictions?? I have a 14cc band (what can I say big girl with a big upper stomach lol) and I just had a fill last week that put me at 10cc!!!!! So, because of this I havent really lost much but I hope now it will get better!!!
  6. HEY Im a college student too!!! I had lap-band placed 08/2008 and school started a week and a half later and I didnt have any problems walking around campus. I have struggled with it a little but but its finally getting better!! Life really hasnt changed much for me except that I dont eat very much and I dont go out to eat very often. I would love to talk to you more or any other college student, it would be so nice to have someone closer to my age to talk about this with!! :crying:
  7. I FEEL YA!!!.... I have a 14cc band and its filled with 10cc and I just now feel restrictions and have problems with certain foods. Stick with it. It takes time I felt really discouraged for the longest time since I was able to eat I didnt lose much weight but now I found my sweet spot and I have lost 5 lbs in a week!!
