  1. I had my band done at the end of May & was doing fine, then one day as I tried to eat, it felt like I was having a heart attack. The pain was excruciating and felt like something was stuck in my throat. I had a gastroscopy done & discovered a hiatus hernia. Of course by then things had settled down. Now is Dec and I have another one of these attacks. I have spent a few nights in the emerg dept at the hospital and had another gastroscopy. Dr. still can't see what the problem is. I am still having so much problems with even drinking. My band has been emptied now and don't know if the band is too tight or what? Anyone have any thoughts on this?
  2. Then i don't feel so bad. No weight loss in over 2wks no matter what I do. Going for 1st fill on the 9thjuly. Sure hope it helps. Still eating lightly & I find it hard to figure out why no weight loss at all. If I try to eat a little too much, it all comes back up... Yeah, hungry as well.
  3. Am also on soft foods til the 20th or so. I guess I must have been lucky as I only had one bout of nausea which was just the day I was leaving Mexico. I think I have done well. Have been careful to follow the food plan. A couple of times I did feel so full that I thought I would explode but having it come back on me, made me realize to be careful to let my fork rest in between bites..... You are so right, only 3wks since surgery.....
  4. Going well here, had the port stitches out today. All is healing well. Guess it will be about 2 wks or so before I also need a fill. Wait & see how the weight loss is going.
  5. That sounds good. Be glad when tomorrow comes around. How often do you eat in a day? I am not sure if it's time to go to 3 meals a day or just a few every 2-3hrs. Any ideas what the rest are doing?
  6. Going to soft foods on friday. Looking forward to some eggs. Have lost 14 lbs since surgery May 21. Seem to be going well. Anyone have some food recipes to share for the soft part of the meals?
  7. Thanks, trying to find the Vanc area bandsters
  8. I am still on full liquids and will start "soft foods" on friday Still have gas .....still use gas-x
  9. I was banded May 21st and doing well. Good luck to all of you
  10. I would like to know more about the support meetings. Where, when, time. Am sure it would be beneficial for me to know more and to meet others that have been banded. Have a great weekend..
  11. canadagirl, Thank you so much for that info. I will get on that. it is good to know someone else who knows this dr. May I ask where you are from? Debbie, I had mine done in Tijuana at the Emmanuel Medical Center. The care we received was wonderful. My cost was $6200. US and our hotel was included. I can put you in touch with our canadian coordinator who travels down and meets you at the airport. You are very secure with staff and hosts. I understand that they do it once a month as a coordinated group and so the wait is not long. You do have to fill medical forms etc. before going down. All I can say is the care was great!! I know if I need any more after care, I can return to them for that. Do some research and see what is best for you.
  12. I live in Maple Ridge. I was given Dr. Arsenau's name but don't have any other info on him. My dr. is not informed on this topic.
  13. Had my surgery done may 21/09 in Tijuana at the Emmanuel Medical center. I have never had such good medical care!!! So far I am doing well. Sticking to the diet which right now is clear liquids but I have no problems. Good luck to you. I went with a coordinator and hotel was arranged and were very secure.
  14. Had my lap-band done in Mexico. Does anyone know who does the fills in BC? I know that I will have to pay for this service.
