  1. Is 9 days post op long enough to wait to have a cocktail?
  2. I was just banded on 6/10 and have a question. I thought that the band was supposed to keep you from being able to overindulge. Even if you crave something, you can only eat a small amount. It sound like it may not be quite that simple! I hope I made the right decision. I guess this won't help with your depression, SORRY! It sounds like you've already had great success.
  3. Banded last Wed. and am now on soft diet. I just had a scrambled egg and it was heaven!!! I kind of feel like it is sitting on my chest, but it tasted soooo good! Maybe this experience will be like tasting everything for the first time! I'm just worried that I'll get carried away and eat too much.
  4. Hi. I was also banded on June 10th. Walking helped me the most with the gas pain. Now, I feel like I am hungry all the time. It's a strange kind of hunger, not like before. Anyone else having this problem?
  5. I was banded on 6/10. The horrible gas pain has finally gone away. I wasn't hungry at all until today. Now, I feel hungry all day. Not like I used to, but my stomach has a sort of empty feeling and it makes me nauseous. If I eat a couple of spoonfuls of soup, pudding, applesauce I feel better for about 45 min. and then the feeling returns. Is this actually hunger or something else? I feel like I need to eat something every hour or two.
  6. Thanks for the advice. It sounds like I should wait until August so that I can be sure and follow all of the post op directions. I certainly don't want to put my health in jeopardy. I'm going to discuss it with the doc.
  7. Hi, I am 5'2 and 195lbs. I am 99% sure that I am ready to make this committment. I am very eager to get started. I can have surgery as early as next week. My question is this: We have a family vacation planned for June 27 - July 5. If I have surgery around June 3, will I be miserable on vacation? We are going to the beach and I am sure that I will be healed enough to swim, but will the sun and activity be too much? Also, will it be obvious to my family that I had surgery? There are a couple of people who would not approve, so I would prefer to keep it quiet. Maybe it would be better to wait, which would mean August due to another trip. I am just eager to get started changing my life.
