    Adelaide Bandsters???

Hi, I was banded on 15/05/09 by Dr D'Onofrio. I had my first fill of 3.6ml on 11/06/09 and am due for another fill tomorrow. I have some restriction since my first fill but for some reason it seems to have settled down and my loss has stalled. I'm still in the process of giving up my love affair with food so this is probably adding to the stall as well, lol. Trying to be paitent!!!

Had 1st fill, and I'm bummed!

Since i posted i've had my first fill (June 11th) of 3.6cc and can now only eat the equivalent to about 1/2 sandwich. Very happy with this. Now i just have to remember to slow down my eating enough so i dont over fill myself! :tongue_smilie:
  3. Hi,

I see that we have both been banded in May 09. It's always good to share experiences regarding the band with each other.

I Know What You Did Last Spring....

    You need a radio, lol.
  5. I'm still working out this website and am thinking it would be a better idea to write my msgs here rather than the blog?

I had my first fill of 3.6cc on June 11th. I have read in the forums that the needle looks scary so i closed my eyes, lol. I didnt have to drink water though. I laid on the bed with a pillow underneath the middle of my back (so it was raised) and he filled away. Since then i can have about 1/2 a sandwich amount of food and then i'm full for about 3 -4 hours. I Have to remember to chew my food very well before swallowing otherwise i get the pain in my chest for about 5 minutes while the food makes it's way down. I have maintained my weight since surgery so hopefully im on my way to the land of slim!

    Messed Up BIIGGG TIME!!! Help!!

I was banded on May 15th. Post op i went from liquids to mushies within a few days and then on to regular foods, eventhough i was supposed to stay on liqiuds for 2 weeks post op and then mushies for 2 weeks. I had the same concerns as you do. I was told (on this forum) that you dont actually start to feel any real restriction until after you have been fillled. I had my first fill on June 11th and noticed the difference straight away. I HAVE to take smaller bites and chew for longer before swallowing or else i get pain and vomiting. Anyway, things are still going ok for me even after not following the post op diet to scratch. However, i'm in no way saying that what i done was right. Good luck!

Had 1st fill, and I'm bummed!

From what i'm reading, it seems that there is no restriction on how much you can eat between surgery and the 'sweet spot' fill? I'm 11 days out from surgery and feel absolutley no restriction. Just trying to determine if this is normal? Thank's in advance.

One week out...Change is on the horizon!

LMAO. I have the Ally McBeal moments too! I literally can't stop giggling @ your blog. I've stopped and deleted my blog as i'm just not committed enough to writing updated entries. How long did your doc tell you to stay on liquids for? Mine was 2 weeks from surgery but i've passed that and graduated myself to eating whatever i'm not supposed to. Since about 5 days after surgery, i have had no restriciton (and started eating whatever) and now i'm getting worried that i've stuffed it up. Self inflicted so i really should'nt whinge...guess i will find out on thursday when i visit my doc. How are you doing with your eating? Do you feel any restriction?

  10. Hi, There is a social group (under the community tab) that i thought you might be intrested in it's called 'May 2009 Banders'.

  11. Hi, I was banded on Friday, 15th May 2009. I was experiencing some reflux pain and came across this forum via google. It has been very helpful to know that other people experience similar things with the banding and their suggestions on alleviating it. I'm still only 3 days out from surgery and am struggling a bit but from reading some of the threads i feel very optimistic. Angela

    Intro.....Angela

I was warned that i may feel pain in my shoulders from the anesthesiologist but fortunately this has not happened to me. I don't feel any hunger and the liquids are filling me enough but my brain is hooked on to wanting what i cant have!
