  1. I just started my 2 week pre op diet today. It's supposed to be all liquids, low sugar. But I don't really like sweet stuff that much and the list is all sweet stuff except for Water and 3 or fewer servings of milk, yogurt or cottage cheese. I'm calling my doctor tomorrow and asking them what kinds of soup I can have. I found some completely smooth soups by V8 that look good: broccoli, butternut squash, tomato and onion/mushroom. They're supposed to have a full serving of veggies but they have no chunks at all.
  2. Sounds like the question should be: was there anyone who WAS required to do a pre-op diet? I started my pre-op diet and I'm worried. My diet is 10 days low sugar, all liquids with the last 3 days only clear liquids. The problem is: there's hardly any Protein in it at all. The stuff I've been reading on the internet says the diet will be low-carb, high-protein. But the only protein in my guidelines is 3 or fewer servings of dairy: milk, yogurt or cottage cheese only. Everything else is Water, juice or diet drinks. So, what, I'm not allowed to eat Soup??
