  1. I was banded July 17. Doing well except I think I'm doing a bit too much as I feel a little weak and dizzy today. Maybe I need more fluids? Anyway... My doc recommends liquid diet for two wks post op. This consists of protein shakes, chicken broth, jello, sugarfree popsicles and clear liquids. I AM HUNGRY :hungry: I'm hanging in there though. I still have steri strips on my incsions but a couple of the corners are starting to peel. I think they'll be removed during my appt on tues (7/25/06). The only other problem i've had is an allergic reaction to the adhesive on bandaids that were place just after surgery was done. They were removed the day after but, wow, the itching and raised red areas are full blown now. I was told by the PA at docs office to use benedryl and some cortizone cream. mdg
  2. HI All, banded yesterday and doing well today. Shoulders hurt from the gas, this is what bothers me the most. I know to walk and use malox or gas x. My incisioins don't bother me much...just a little sore. I also had my gall bladder removed and an hernia repaired...but now I"m an official BANDSTER!!! Thanks for all your support, MDG
  3. My husband is extremely nervous about my surgery. You'd think he was about to have surgery himself. He loves me very much and is just nervous about: 1. the surgery itself. 2. the unknown after the surgery... "what if something goes wrong?" etc. I told him he has the same fears I do but that all will be just fine. Any words of encouragement from the significant others in your lives??? Thanks, mdg

  9. I will be banded on July 17. I have to give myself a blood thinning injection (heparin for example,to prevent blood clots) the day before surgery and then for two weeks after, 2-3 times/day!!! I"m dreading this!!! Has anyone else had to do this?? MDG :help:
