Long Term Stats
Hi Everyone, Does anyone know of where we could find some long term stats on the lap band? I know that they have been banding people in Europe for a lot longer than here. I would like to reassure myself that after spending 16,000$$ I will have a chance at permanent success.:nervous

My exciting news!!!
Hi Yoda, Thats why i want to do it on my vaca, cuz if i take sick time, they will ask for a doctors letter, for sure. I know that the doctor will just put for a "procedure" but letterhead etc. may give the game away. I don't know why im so worried about it, but they always hassle us soooo much about sick time, and if they know it's "elective" they'll get thier knickers in a twist!

Hello everyone
Hi Bigdog, Welcome! I'm sorry, I dont know what PE is, but as far as your dad being unsupportive, I'm sorry. He probably doesn't understand what you are going through, and how safe the band is. You can try to educate him, but if he doesn't come 'round, just remember, its your body and your life! I wish you the best of luck with whatever decision you make.

Hi pplqueen, Thanks for clearing that up! sounds kinda scary....did he say if that means the band has to come out? forever? is your stomach messed up forever? Thanks

I'm not clear on Erosion
Hi Everyone, I am still trying to figure out what erosion is exactly. Does a hole erode in your stomach?!? Does the band erode? Is it the end of having a lap band? Probably dumb questions, but I just don't get it.:cry Thanks!

Drinking fluids?
phew! Thanks Emily! I was worried too about getting enough fluids. I guess gulping was too strong a word, drinking a glass straight down sounds more like what I do, too. thanks again

Drinking fluids?
Hi everyone, not banded yet. I have noticed everyone mentions sipping fluids. I love drinking water, love the feel of gulping it down, will this be history after banding? Will I have to sip for ever? Just wondering
