  1. Hi all...Im so glad the holidays are over with...i was actually surprised that I only gained 1 lb over the holidays considering I have no restriction...I had 4 cc put in my realise band 2 weeks ago and am having another fill Friday. I cant wait to see the #s go down...Hope everyone is doing well..no problems with my band so far, You wouldnt know I even have one ...lol:thumbup: H 300/ S 291/ C 267/ G 150
  2. :thumbup:Hi, Im Stacey I live in Derry Nh and have Medicare as my primary and Anthem new England as a secondary, when I called Medicare, they said as they would cover the lap band as long as I fit their criteria, had a BMI of over 40 , had at least 1 health issue related to obesity, went to one of their Centers Of Excellence, and had failed attempts at other diets. I did not have to do any special diet before surgery, just did weight watchers to loose some weight before my surgery, I am being banded on Nov 9,09 and hope that Anthem will pick up the other 20% . This was a very easy process for me and didnt need to wait for any approvals...they just booked it!
  3. Hey, I am getting banded the same day! Good luck! where are you having it done? Im having mine at Lowell General in Massachusetts.
  4. We are going to be banded the same day <3 I wish u lots of luck.... Stacey
  5. Hello all you November bandsters, Im another Stacey and Im being banded on Nov 9th, I have already lost 20 lbs , I started in July and weighed 291 and now weigh 280, but before that I was at 300, so i count those too..lol hey I worked hard to loose those lbs.. I must say i thought the process went pretty fast for me , met my surgeon on July 31 and did all the other apts in the following months, and my support groups witch were mandatory , and I went in last wednesday 10/22/09 to have my final apt with the medical dr and they said they would call me with a date. Friday came and they called and said I am booked for Nov 9th, WOW!!that was fast... I dont have to do any special diet, just keep trying to loose weight the way I have been. Im glad to know there are quite a few people getting banded and going through the same emotions as I am, and that we can take this journey together and support each other, I am excited to be getting banded, but when its night time and early in the morning,, my mind starts running away with me with worries, Am I doing the right thing??? Will I be sorry afterwards that I did this?? I know all my health reasons are the reasons I chose to do this to begin with ,I guess its prebanding jitters and we all get nervouse I just pray we all have safe surgeries and speedy recoveries so we can be on our way to being the thin , sexy woman we are inside...lol Stacey Derry Nh

  7. Hi I also will have Cigna ppo as of April 1st, I have a bmi of 50 with comorbidities such as high blood pressure, sleep apnea ( sleep with cpap) gerd, clogging arteries of legs, and risk of cardiac disease CRP levels elevated, i wonder what my chances are? Do they make everyone do the 6 mo dr supervised diet? And what if you loose weight, does that mean they wont approve you sine you can do it on your own? Thanks Stacey
