Hi. :crying: I was banded on April 10th with the Realizeband. So excited to have found this message board a few weeks ago. I've only told 4 people that I had this surgery - all were family and my husband. I haven't told any friends yet.
I had 4 little incisions. All less than an inch long and then one almost 2" long. They were all glued shut and have almost all healed up with no visible scarring. I think the 2" one may scar a bit, but I have mederma to put on it after the rest of the glue has worn off. I'll be having a tummy tuck one day anyway, so I'm not that worried about the scar.
I had second thoughts right until I was wheeled in. I just kept reminding myself that "it's reversible" if there are ever problems vs the bypass. I'd think it would be normal to have 2nd thoughts; it's a pretty major step to be taking.
Hi. First post on here. I've been lurking a few weeks and thought I'd come out and say hello. I got banded on April 10th and have lost 19 lbs so far. Nothing though in the last two days since switching to foods like grits & mashed potatoes. Is that normal? I was really enjoying the weight loss when I was on the Soups - but NOT the liquid in-liquid out. UGH!
A couple days ago I came down with a cold. I've got a horrid sinus infection and coughing all night long. I'm going to try to get in to see my regular dr tomorrow for an antibiotic. Is it possible to have coughed my band loose or anything? Today I seemed to eat more than previously; I don't feel necessarily hungry but not full either. Maybe it's still because it's mushy foods?
