  1. Thanks everyone. I'm post-op day 6 and the pain persists. I'll check out the nerve-diaphram thing but in the meantime heat and a massage helps a lot.
  2. Doc said L. shoulder pain normal for some hernia repairs. Mine is debilitating but comes in waves:crying:... got band and hernia repair May 29th. Did anyone experience this? How long did it last? Did you hear anything different than my explanation? Thanks...I'm miserable.
  3. Any suggestions for a useful kitchen appliance/gadget? I have a blender but was wondering about the bennefits of a food processor...or anything else enlightening for me. Thank you
  4. Thank you again. The Isopure sounds interesting because of the high protein content....but what does it taste like? The Benneprotein sounds great to add to regular foods. And after my banding May 29th I'll discover if any of these drinks make me gag. This is such great information!
  5. Okay, I like the EAS. However, I bought the ready to drink Muscle Milk...AAACCKK! It tastes like....like....:wink2: I am interested in a protein powder with more protrin but I'm worried now... no, I scared! Thank you for your responses!
  6. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I too love a wee bit o' coffee. Truely, I don't need much but I love the smell as it brews and good coffee can't be completely ignored.:wink2: I really appreciate your input.
  7. Please tell me why no caffeine on pre op diet. All I want is 1/2 c of black coffee to get me going.
  8. Just read some multivit. don't have iron. Sure nuf' my Viactive Multis. don't have any. Anyone have a good iron chewable?
  9. Okay, sounds good...especially the 10 cals per protein gram...helpful! Are we, as pre or post banded, supposed to get a certain ammount of protein per day? Too much counting, as in Weight Watchers, would make me loooose my mind but grams of protein....easy! Just checked my pre-op and it isn't mentioned but do "you" think it's important... also, I can't find a daily calorie intake anywhere on my post-op. Did anyone else experience this?:smile2: Thanks again
  10. I have a peo-op diet of liquids, and protein drinks for meals. One bandster I know said I need a certain ammount of protein/carbs/sugars in the protein drink. I had just purchased the EAS 20 protein/20 carb/ 17 sugar cuz' it's sweetened w/ fructose (immitation sweetners can make me ill). Anyone want to throw in thier "two cents" or three?
  11. Hi Michiganders! Going to be banded on the 29th of May. Pre-op diet starts tomorrow. Glad to know you'll be here when the "deed" is done.
  12. Thanks for the replies. I really appreciate you both taking time out of your busy lives to help us "newbies" out.:rolleyes2:
  13. Hi, lap band date in two weeks here... If even after hitting the "sweet spot" fills are needed from time to time...essentially, will I be slowly streaching my stomach out until my pouch is a duffle bag?:scared2: Sorry, I had to ask.
  14. Thanks for taking the time to respond. I've been calling around... and around... Found a hospital 30 min away w/ fills 1/2 the cost.:scared2: I'm happy. Thank again for being there.
  15. Thanks to you both for your responses. I looked at the EAS and noticed it had fructose instead of imitation sweeteners. Does anyone have an opinion on this? :smile2: I like the idea of "real" foods... anyone?
  16. Hey Michigan, I found around $300 for a fill, more if x rayed.:mad2: Anyone out there get fills at a good price? I live in Central MI but could drive for a good deal... please, I need your help.
  17. I'm scheduled for a May 29th banding. Please, tell me what protein drinks have worked for ya', how many g of protein, where, how much...all that good info.:mad2: I appreciate your knowledge and time.
