  1. I used Dr. Speigel in Houston, TX and the fee was $15,000. Since I had it financed through Capital One, Dr. Speigel also charged an additional $510 fee. The interest rate I secured with Capital One was 9.9% for a five year loan. So, my monthly payments are about $320. This is a lot of money, but considering that my husband and I were probably spending about $800 a month going out to eat (dinner and lunches), we are actually saving money since the surgery. Not to mention, you can't really put a price on your health and happiness.
  2. Hello all, I was banded on 6/22 and had a pretty rough start. However, since a week has gone by, I am feeling much better and my incisions seem to be healing well. Now that I'm feeling more like myself again, my husband has been giving me the "eye" and I know that he wants me as soon as I feel up to it. My questions for all of you is how long did you wait to have sex post-op? My doctor's instructions are to wait three months to do anything "rough", but I'm just talking about having normal sex. :nervous I don't want to take any chance that my port incision will open up, so I'm thinking that I need to wait at least three weeks. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance, Linsey
