It is greta to hear from another local person. I live in Marshall which is about 30 minutes north of Asheville. Don't give up the fight!!! I am just beginning the lap band journey and even though it seems like it is going to take FOREVER....don't let it get you down. What did you think of the srugeons at Regional Surgical?

I am new to this site an dam loving it so far. I am just beginning my journey down the road of Lap Band Surgery. Iam wondering if anyone knows anything about the docs here in Asheville...good or bad. How long does it take to get the insurance approval??I know you have to undergo several tests and be monitored on a medically supervised weight loss program for 6 months but when all is complete how long does it tak eto hear something?? Anyone else have GEHA insurance? I am really loving this site and look forward to talking with all of you. It is really nice to know that there is support and care out there!!

:biggrin:Hello Everyone!! I am considering the lap band surgery, does anyone have any advice? Does anyone happen to know anything about the surgeons in Asheville, NC?? I am schceduled to attend the information seminar next week and am looking forward to understnading this procedure more. I am really excited and cannot wait...but at the same time I am really nervous. This is a really BIG DEAL!! I am starting at 350lbs and am worried about side affects and what will happen after the surgery. Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.
