  3. i don't know if this will help anyone but in missouri, university hospital in columbia does accept medicaid for the lap band surgery. i was told this yesterday by st. johns hosp. luckly i have medicare and medicaid so st johns in springfield missouri is doing mine... i am at the beginning of the process but i don't have a doubt that i will be approved. i am on 16 different medications a day, i have diabetes, CHF, high blood pressure. and have had a heart attack 4 years ago.my family doc said its an excellent idea to go with because it would definately get me off alot if not all of my meds.
  4. i posted that too soon i had wanted dr malley to do my surgery because of the testimonials and things i read on this site about dr malley.. i only wish he was closer to me. i spoke with my regular doctor and she asked me if i was prepared to make several trips to kansas city which is 6 1/2 hours one way from where i live...since my post i recieved info that st johns in springfield just became certified as a center of excellence in bariataric surgery.. that is only 1 1/2 hour trip one way so i am now having my surgery done there....
  5. by the way i have chosen Doctor Malley in Kansas City Missouri to do my surgery when the time comes up to do it.
