  1. Good luck shannon, see you on the board soon!!!
  2. I am a nurse, so I have an active, non desk job. I took two weeks off of work, is that long enough? What are your doctors recommending?
  3. Your story was like you were writing about me. Same weight and sizes too! Thank you so much for sharing it with us. I was banded 3/31 and I am so scared I will not take off the weight. You give me hope!
  4. Hi I'm Sam from Jersey, I had surgery on the 31st. Today is the first day I feel myself. The first three days I had a lot of pain and gas, then just gas. Today, I have minimal pain, and a litttle bit of gas. Liquids are going down easier, but I do feel a bit hungry and not just in my head. My energy level is not bad, however I feel alittle weaker than I did yesterday, ( but I am trying to do more like doing laundry and stuff.) I did have a meltdown, when I guess reality set in and I pasted some of my places to eat in my town. Mentally for me this is harder than physical right now, but I know this is the right thing and I still feel okay with my choice to be banded. I think this forum is going to be a great tool for all of us, because we definately need the support! Family and Friends I think, feel this is an easy way to loose, but we have signed up for the bigest challenge of all in my opinion! Good Luck and we are all here to help each other through!
  5. Oh and I would try gum, but two things, I am afraid that I will swallow it and do something to the band (perpetual gum swallower) and it sometimes makes me more hungry . I .may try it now though
  6. Thanks for responding! I do have to say yesterday's meltdown was after driving passing resturants, and the ice cream shop!! okay I am normal!
  7. I had my sugery on the 31st. I don't have the ball in my throat feeling, but I do have the gas. I take gas X, again not much relief, but walking really helps. Also until the gas starts to feel better I only was having teaspoons at a time, 400-500 calories, but this is all normal. I found that when I stand up and drink I feel better because the gas mobilizes better. Hang in there, today I am less gasy and feel more normal.
  8. Hi I'm Sam! I had surgery on March 31st, by Dr. N. Bertha. I am feeling okay, I'm on Full liquids. Thankfully I like my protein shakes so far. I am hungry though! I was hoping I wouldn't feel that way, but my mind is hungry, my stomach is full! Very crazy! Anyway, good luck to all and I look forward to chatting and supporting each other!:welldoneclap:
