  1. Hi, I recently (5/22) received single-incision (through the belly button only) lap band surgery from Dr. Sherman Yu in Houston. I'm thrilled with what will essentially be totally scar-free results. He did not even cut an Omega-shaped incision on the outside of the belly button (my understanding of how this was previously done) but went exclusively through the BB. I had had some major concerns about having the port sit right at the belly button, which is my natural waist. I was afraid of ongoing discomfort when wearing skirts, pants, hose, etc. So Dr. Yu actually pioneered a new technique during my surgery, managing to place the port a couple of inches to the left of my belly button and up at a 2-O'clock position--should pose absolutely no problem with wearing clothes/being comfortable, etc. I'm not aware of anyone in LA who does similar surgery but keep searching--Good luck!
