  1. I too 'had' a soda addiction. Diet PEPSI is my drink of choice. I was such an addict, that if I traveled anywhere, especially the south, I made sure to have my own DP, since coke was more availalbe. But last week, when I committed to this change, I realized that if I am going to do this, I'm gonna do it ALL THE WAY. Once the band is on, burping/hiccuping can actually 'possibly' move your band. And once your stomach is reduced, the amount of space is too limited for the 'fizz' to die down. Today is day 6 and I'm doing fine. Now day 1-3, those were a bit hard. I had such a 'ritual'. But now I bust open a bottle Water and add my crstal light. You can do it. Especially if I can. GOOD LUCK!!!
  2. I have my surgery scheduled on May 21, 2009. And my Dr. gave me a list of 'rules' for the pre-op... 1. One Metaucil Capsule can be takedn at 10:00 am and one at 3:00 pm for hunger pangs 2. A green salad (no colors other than GREEN!) may be consumed, unlimited. Broccoli, bell paper, cucumber, celery, jicama, asparagus, minimal tomato & mushroom and salad spritzer, up to 5 calories. 3. One chromium Piclinate 400mcg per day can be taken for fat-burning purposes. I am only required to do a ONE week pre-op diet. But you may want to ask your Dr or Nutritionist if these tips are applicable for you! Good Luck!!!
  3. Hi All, I am starting my investigation/research on whether to head on down to TJ (Dr. Kuri or Dr. Ortiz) or try to find someone near me in Cali (Inland Empire). The reason I had considered Mexico was for 2 reasons: 1. I have met 2 clients, one of each Dr. in Mexico, who both HIGHLY recommend their Dr. Their experiences were GREAT and they have NO regrets! 2. COST!! For obvious reasons. My insurance WILL not cover any kind of weight loss surgery. Per them, I don't qualify. So due to that, I am left to pay cash. I have financial backing of up to 10k. But I don't know if that would be sufficient here in California. So I ask you fellow bandsters....... do you have any recommendations, suggestions, stories to tell?? I am trying to gather as much information as possible so I can make the best decision. Congrats to you all and I look foward to being one of your 'peeps' someday soon!
