  1. 1st timer for a challenge. I have got to find some motivation. I have gained 11 lbs since October when I had to have an unfill. (I was banded in May 06 and was 7 lbs from my goal of 70.)
  2. Oh, as a note to my post just now, I had lost 63 pounds, my goal being 70. But as I said, I'm now back up 11.
  3. Are the Lower BMI'ers still out there? I was banded in May '06. 5'3", wt: 202- I gained 10 pds to make it look good. (cholesterol med and heart med to regulate rapid heart rate) I had battled my wt all my life bouncing between 135 and 165 but had gained more after going through a devasting tornado that I barely escaped and then living in a camper for 2 1/2 yrs while we built a new home. I found it hard to cook and eat right. Anyway, my ins. covered it all-no out of pocket and I love it. Best thing I could have ever done for myself. Now 3 1/2 yrs out I'm struggling. Developed terrible reflux, had a scope done. My small stomach had become slightly stretched. My doctor decided on a slight unfill. The reflux is gone but I've gained 11 lbs since October. I want a fill, am I being unreseasonable? Thanks
  4. I'm a little late on this thread I guess, but wanted to say I still have a diet coke about 5 times a week, but on the advice of my doctor, I let it defizz for about 15-20 mins before I drink it....it's a little watered down by then but it still hits the spot for me....
  5. Good Luck, let us know how you do with it....
  6. Fanny, that makes sense now, about the internal swelling. I will follow your advice when I do my PS. Thanks
  7. Hi, just wanted to say I have "interviewed" 3 different plastic surgeons. I want to have my PS this spring. All 3 told me it wouldn't be a problem. They all had performed surgeries on pts w/filled bands and had no problems, even placing the port back where it was or relocating was not a problem. I had told one that my band doc had advised an unfill and he said he had never heard that, as the tube does not go into the stomach, but was going to consult w/local band doctor anyway (mine is 8 hrs away.) I haven't figured how I feel about it yet!
  8. Hi ! I'm Rhonda and was banded May 24, '06 by Dr. Hadar Spivak in Houston. I live in the Little Rock area and travel for my band ck/fills. I'm still bouncing 6-9 lbs from my goal. I'm going back in a week for a ck. I could use a little motivation from ya'll to get my butt in gear and exercise these last pounds off. Anyway, I'm here just for the commraderie. Thanks
