My doctor told me to drink up to the point of eating then no drinking during the meal and for 30 minutes after. I had my first fill on the Sept 2 and he told me then he wanted me to work up to drinking an 8 ounce glass of water just before each meal. He said this keeps you from eating as much and quickens weight loss. He has been doing WLS for over 20 years and swears it works wonders.

My doctor told me to use a small amount of Witch Hazel. Put some on a cotton ball and dab it on a couple of times a day. It worked for me.

I had my first NSV when I was able to put my wedding rings back on. I hadn't been able to wear them for close to two years. I was looking in my jewelry box and saw them. Thought what the heck and tried them on. THEY FIT!! I was so excited.

I was also banded on 7/16. I've lost 22 lbs and couldn't be happier. Just hope the rest comes off this quick. The only problem I've had is the gas pain for a couple of days after surgery but it finally went away. I'm on mushies for now and can't wait to get to chew some real food...lol. Gonna stick with the program though. I don't want to mess things up. I try to walk at least twice a day. Thats all my doctor wants me doing for a couple more weeks. I was banded on July 16th and seem to be doing great with everything except I keep the hiccups. I was told I was eating too fast. So I have really slowed down on my eating. But I also wake myself up at night hiccuping and I have the hiccups 3 or 4 times a day whether I have eaten or not. Has anyone else had this problem?

I was just banded on the 16th of July. I know I have a long battle ahead of me. But one of the major goals I have set for myself is by this time next year to be able to go on class trips with my 9 year old. They always go places like the zoo or museums and I haven't been able to go because I can't walk that far. It has broken my heart every year to make some excuse to her why I can't go. I'm going this next May!!

Congratulations!! My surgery is tomorrow also. I've been on pre-op diet for two weeks now. Lost around 18 lbs. My doc didn't tell me how much to lose. I'm just hoping its enough.

Congratulations on your surgery. I know how nervous you are my surgery is tomorrow also. I'm supposed to be there at 7am. I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. Can't find anything to keep my attention today. Just keep pacing and walking waiting for the day to be over....lol. I can't believe how fast it's all happened. My first surgery consult was 5/20. At that time they said surgery would probably be in July. Then that seemed so far away, now it's here and I can't believe it. Good luck with your surgery!!:wub:

I am now using Dr Jones. My surgery has been scheduled for July 16. He seems to be a great doctor and his nurses and staff all very professional. I would recommend him.

Just got my surgery date!! I'm in for July 16!! Can't wait...I'm so excited.

I just called my insurance checking to see if they paid for lap band. The lady told me they paid for surgery and fills but not for doctor visits before. Can anyone tell me about what doctor visits at one of these surgeons should run me?
