  1. Vetical Gastrectomy is where they go and basically consists of making a stomach that looks like a pouch into a long tube. They remove two thirds of the stomach which makes you feel full faster. Simple as that, but pretty new so most insurance companys are not willing to cover it. So I'm nopw deciding between the Lap Ban or the R&Y. Still don't know have until Monday to decide. PAula
  2. I was denied the sleeve by my insurance company, resubmiting for Lap Ban. Lap was my first choice until I heard about the sleeve. Hope to get my approval soon. So much red tape:crying: Paula
  3. Hello! I'm new here. I had put in for the sleeve surgery and was denied by my insurance company yesterday. They said it's to new, but would cover the lap or the R&Y. I was originaly going for the Lap BAn but when I went for my first visit with the Dr. to learn about all of them I changed my mind. I thought the sleeve sounded better for me. Because I'm a two time cancer survivor he didn't want to put my body through the R&Y. He believes a fast weight loss has to many risks for me. I agreed with his dicision. But now I have to wait for the denial letter then resubmit for the Lap Ban. The denial letter has to be attached to the new submission. I hate all the red tape involved in this. So anyway I'm anxious to get going and want to hear everyones stories. I have read these for days now. I really like this web site. Paula
