***bunny bandsters april 09 master thread #2 ***
Got banded Monday April 13th! Spent 1 night in hospital, but did a 45 minute hall walk the first night. My only complaint is how dry my mouth got from the anesthesia so I drank tons of Water and spent that night in and out of the bathroom! The gas hurt a little for about 24 hrs, but finally got that moving. Took my shower this morning, felt good, and changed my bandages. Am thinking I am done with pain meds...may take some before bed...but just skipped the last dose and feel wonderful! Janis PS....gotta go change my status...have lost 25 lbs now!

Diet coke :)
I would advise against it. Anything that is behind you would be better off to stay there. This is a journey about changing out of our old bad habits and focusing on the future with the lapband as a tool. They say not to have carbinated drinks anyway, do you really want to see WHY they say not to, and risk feeling awful to find out? Good luck in whatever you choose. It is hard giving up certain things, but in the end it will be well worth it! Janis

John, you don't have to go on a pre-op liq. diet??????? My dr has us go on one to shrink the liver so surgery goes much better.....

Any May dates yet?
At least you have time to prepare....I got my call yesterday, my date is April 13, I had already had a bowl of cheerios when she called, so started my liquids today.....luckily it was grocery day, but had to start on CIB, and order Unjury cuz no warning, and will only be doing it for 12 days instead of 14. Also I can't have Easter dinner.........I am ok with that, cuz I am very excited, but in a way a little more time to prepare would have been nicer! Good luck with your surgery!

New To The Scene
WELCOME....I am pretty new here myself. I am in process to. I started back in Dec and think my surgery will be in May. I started at 280 and am now at 268 (although I am due to go to my nutritionist for a weigh in again soon and have lost more) so don't feel bad. I have also seen people in here much heavier, and much smaller.....every thing you can think of. We are all here for the same reason, however, to get the weight off and get healthy and to help each other along. GL in your journey! Janis

Did you exercise today?
I am doing "exercise on demand" a channel we have here in Maine on our Time Warner Cable dvr box. I did 30 minutes of cario with Jillian Micheals (Biggest Loser trainer) and took my dog outside for a 30 min walk!

Hamburger and Fries
Don't do it....keep your eye on the prize.....have that later on when you are on solids again. I would not risk anything from preventing the surgery from going perfect if I were you! GL. Hope you have a speedy surgery/recovery!

oops that is matter of fact...not matter of fat, LOL

New Here
Hello, and welcome.....I started my process in Nov/Dec...and am almost to my date. The great part about the process is you learn so much and have time to really think it over, even though you do all that before the process begins. One really big thing I have learned is that LB is NOT the easy way out, matter of fat it is going to be just as hard if not harder for you after you have it......it is just a tool to help us feel fuller faster....it still requires us to have to use it correctly, and make better choices....so let your family know it is actually not the EASY way out............you will agree with this as you learn more about what happens to you before, during and after it is put on you! GL, Janis

Hey Y'all!
Can you get things going at the dr's in the meantime? It takes that long and then some to get approved with all that you usually have to do...here in Maine anyway 3-6 months.

Hello New Here
Hello, I started where you are in Dec. I got my letter of approval the other day, however, I have to wait 2 more months.....my nutritionist wants to see more consistancy in exercising and my food plan she put me on. She is afraid since I have relapsed in the past.....I see her every 3 weeks and the first time I lost 6lb, 2nd I lost 4, and last time only 1....so had I done better I would have my date. So it can be as quick as 3 months if everything goes well for you!!!! Good luck!

Hello
Hello, I am waiting for banding as well, and just found out about this cool site. I only started my journey towards banding a few months ago and have lost 12 pounds. It looks like I will have my banding done in May!

3/6/09 That?s the Way the Cookie Crumbles (and Artificial/Replacement Sweeteners)
That is too bad, since the GS need that money. Maybe it is time to sell something else people "need"!
