  1. Hi Pinksjo1, Not sure if you'd be interested, but we have meetings the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of every month in the Metro East at the Collinsville Doubletree. Its led by a NUT from St. Alexius and we usually have several WLS patients attend with every type surgery. It's open to anyone who's had or contemplating WLS. All are welcome! Several members from this site attend. PM me if you'd like more info. Thanks, David
  2. Weights and a quick spin on the trainer. Now ready to watch some BIG BLUE BASKETBALL!
  3. Great job!!!!!!!!! You did it and had fun... Congrats!
  4. One of the "lapband Pioneer surgeons", you'll see mentioned often on here, Dr. Paul O'Brien suggest that "a glass of wine with meals which we have shown is good for your health and good for your weight loss when taken in a modest amount." So, IMO, enjoy! http://drsimpson.net/weight-loss/Dr-Obrien's-golden-rules/Dr-Obrien's-golden-rules.htm
  5. Everyone has different experiences, but for me, having a properly adjusted band is the most important thing. You're not there yet....so as others have suggested, do your best to limit your calorie intake and do what YOU can as far as exercising/walking/moving....everything helps. You can get through this "bandster hell" as its called for a reason...one day at a time. Best wishes!

  13. WTG SillyAuntDi.... you didn't let your trainer canceling on you stop you. Great job!
  14. I've been missing your runs too! So glad to see you posting them again. After all, YOU got me started with this running thing. In case I haven't told you lately. .... THANKS!
  15. Way to go @@LadyDiva618 that's awesome! 4 miles! We will do a half together later this year.
  16. WTG everyone! Glad to see all the posts in this thread. It's motivating to ALL of us. Keep on doing what you can do. Today was a 10km run for me this morning....I'd like to get on the bike later if the wind dies down. Happy Tuesday!!!!!!
  17. I would suggest going to a running store...not just a "shoe" store. They should be able to evaluate your feet/stride/how you land, etc and suggest a shoe for you. I started running in one brand of shoes (a VERY popular running shoe) that I got at a shoe store....4 months later having knee/I.T. band pain. So I went to a true running store and got what they recommended and haven't had pain since. You'll be amazed at what a difference the correct shoes for you can make. I now run in Newton Sir Isaac's and love them! And they are HIGHLY visible.
  18. Great Job!! Congrats!!
  19. If you're on a PC, its pretty simple. 1. At the top right of the screen, click on your profile pic. 2. That should open a drop down box. 3. Click on "my tickers". 4. On the right hand side, click on "create new ticker". Hope this helps.
