  1. My Mom kept her surgery a secret from everyone except me. Even my Dad didn't know until two weeks prior to the surgery itself! My Mom didn't tell anyone because she didn't want to deal with the judgmental and ignorant remarks she might have gotten from people. There are always a few negative individuals and she didn't want that on top of the stress from the upcoming surgery. So, she waited and announced it a couple of says after the surgery. I am in the process of getting the lap-band and only my DH knows. Actually, I am not telling many people about it even after I have it done unless they ask about my weight loss. This is a somewhat person surgery for me.
  2. Quick update: My mom had the lap band surgery in April. She has lost about 30 pounds, but she is having a really rough time (different thread altogether, sorry....) I am planning to get mine done in the next two-three months. I am going to be self-pay, but I believe it will be worth the $$$. Yipeeee!
  3. Have you found anyone? My mother is in Bellingham, WA and is looking for a surgeon that will take Medicare. Thanks!!
  4. Hi! I am actually posting on behalf of my wonderful mother. She has decided that she wants lap-banding done, but because she doesn't know anything about computers, I am doing the research and asking the questions for her, lol! Anyway, this site looks great and I am just so thrilled that my mom has decided to have this procedure done. She is 5-3 and 260 pounds. She also has heatlh problems r/t her obesity. (..........Thanks ahead for all of the info and advice!! )
