  1. Thanks for the info...good to know about the rep. coming. See you on Wed.

  2. Glad to hear you are doing well. I remember how much I wanted something that would be yummy but not the same old soft sugar free foods that I had been eating. I had my husband go to a local restaraunt and buy me a bowl of chicken tortilla soup. I put in a blender and whipped it up until it looked like squash soup. It tasted SO good and went down without any problems. Other than that, I don't really remember what I ate. Hang in there as the worst is over. Are you going tomorrow night for the lapband meeting?? Hope to see you there. Jeri

  3. Hi Pabra...just saw this post. I am really excited for you! I know it is probably a little scary but try to focus on how healthy you will be when all is said and done. Please call me or post and let us all know how you are. Good luck! Jeri

  4. Hi Anush...I tried to confirm you on facebook but I couldn't find the link to add you. I did a search for you and came up with your name and the middle initial K. Hopefully you get the friend request. Let me know...thanks, Jeri

  5. Good luck with your lapband journey. It will forever change your life.

  6. Loved your pics. It is amazing how quickly we morph into our new selves....you look fantastic. Keep up the good work. Jeri

  7. I am a hair stylist with quite a few clients. These are people that have seen me lose and gain weight over the last few years. I decided, for myself, to be honest about the surgery. I knew that some clients would be supportive while others, would not. I have no regrets for my decisions because as my weight loss has become noticeable and people are commenting about the changes they are seeing, I am not having to explain over and over again about the surgery. My few clients that had concerns in the beginning are now coming around and realizing that I am a healthier person. I have also been an inspiration to 3 clients of another co-worker. They all wanted to have the surgery but were afraid to take the step. After talking to me and asking many questions.......they all 3 opted to go ahead with the lap band. I feel excited to have this great tool (lap band) that will hopefully give me a healthier existance. Good luck to you all in this journey.
  8. Hi Tina........is this you?? Hope to see you at the meeting tomorrow night. Take care, Jeri

  9. Hi Gina, Glad you are doing well. I had the glue on all of my inscisions. He doesn't know what he will use when he closes you up until he is at that point. I know that it doesn't hurt when they are removed and you will probably be relieved to get them out that you won't care. Tina has my number...give me a call I would love to talk!! Take care, Jeri

  10. HI Gina..just wondering how you are doing?? I am going to call Tina and check up on you......hope all is going well. Take care, Jeri

Banded May 19 & feeling good but tired

I was also banded on the 19th along with my best friend. We had back to back surgeries and were able to have an entire day and night at the hospital together. My energy level came back to normal by three of four days after surgery. My best friends did as well. I feel really fortunate that we felt as great as we did. I am sure you will get sronger and I truly believe that the more you push yourself to walk and move the quicker the energy comes back. Good luck.

    Mayo Bandito's dates only

    May 19th. 2009
  14. I am having surgery on May 19th and have been on a similiar diet since May 5th. Apparently it is supposed to reduce fat around your liver enabling the doctor to get the band around your stomach with less disturbance to your liver. However, I am convinced that this really enables us to get an idea of what we are signing up for. I have not been hungry once in the last week but I have really been aware of how often I think about putting food in my mouth. THis has been a HUGE eyeopener for me and it has shown me what I have committed to and signed up for. I am about half way through my 2 week pre-op diet and can't wait for May 19th! Good luck!!
