  1. i am a nurse and i don't think i would do it. but prob like any skill if taught properly can be done
  2. hi, i was banded on may 19th. and have showered twice so far. my doc said to wash the sights VERY gently with soap and a new facecloth. if your dressings are sticking and difficult to remove try having a shower and letting them soak and then gently remove them. also my post op instructions for the steristrips are to leave them for ten days, so try not to pull them off. did you get any written instructions from you doc??? hope this helps. sandi
  3. my surgery date is may 19th, flying down from vancouver may 18th and returning may 22nd. i don't expect anything to delay my surgery. i am so glad the process was not to hard for you. have you noticed any changes, are you doing ok with the post op eating plan. again take care sandi
  4. hi i am so glad to hear from someone who has been to tj and back. sounds like everything is business as usual. how was you surgery, did you do ok, how are you feeling now. these details are much more important than the travel lol. hurrray you are on the other side. take care sandi
  5. i just read the travel alert and it looks like the gov't of mexico is closing non essential gov't services for 5 days. so far the border is still open. sandi:thumbup:
  6. Happy May Day to all my fellow mayo banditos. this month is gonna rock. sandi:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::ohmy::thumbup:
  7. Hi, i am concerned with going to tj may 18th for surgery. but i think if i take precautions: good handwashing, having hand sanitizer close by, wearing a mask on the plane (don't laugh at me, it works), and having tamiflu or relenza on hand. i am also going to bring my own dolac and tylenol #3's so i don't have to go the pharmacy to pick a prescription. hopefully by being vigilant none of us will end up being typhoid mary of the swine version lol good luck all:smile2::drool::smile2:
  8. hi my date is also the 19th of may. woohoo. i am really looking forward to get the band done. good luck. sandi
  9. that is a good idea. get some drugs before you leave. things like tylenol #3 are crushable and would prob work better for post op discomfor. also my patient coord. said Dr.Kuri would give me a prescription for ketorolac (dolac) as well to get filled in tj the night before the surgery. hope this is helpful. sandi
