  1. Thank you sooooo much for sharing your success story. I had a similar situation recently in that I had some abdominal swelling above my band. Not to mention only a few pounds of weight loss over the last 6 months. I have been unfilled and will get a refill in 3 weeks. Your story has really motivated me to keep pushing towards my goal to loose another 30-35lbs.
  2. Wow, that is Awesome!!!! I know exactly how you feel. I was wearing an 18 pre op. I went shopping, looking for a new pair of jeans for the New Years celebration. I slid on a pair of size 14 jeans with ease. The fit was fabulous. Kudos to you!
  3. I'm 10 months post surgery and I have not experienced hair loss. I'm been taking biotin since the surgery. In addition my diet consists primarily of protein (tuna and chicken). I eat very few carbs (can't tolerate them). My hair is actually fuller and thicker now.

I was banded on 2/25. I felt both excitement and apprehension. I know, however, that I'm doing the best thing for me at this point in my life. If you want a revolutionary change you have to do what you don't normally do. Can't wait until the new me takes full form. .
  5. I'm 10months post op and I haven't experienced hair loss. As a matter of fact, my hair is thicker and fuller now. My weight loss has been very slow (I intentionally increased the time between fills). My diet consist of most protein (tuna and chicken). I eat very few carbs (can't tolerate them).
  6. thanks for talking/blogging about your success. i've been banded for 5 months. i'm happy with the weight loss but it feels like the weight is coming off at snail's pace. it's good to know that the "stall for awhile" will end at some point. again, congrats on your success. it's good to hear/read the story of others.
  7. I know exactly how you feel. I felt the same thing. It lasted about a week, week and a half. I'm about 3 weeks postop now. That weird feeling of my lower stomach feeling starved has stopped. I do still feel alot of activity, rumblings/grumblings in my tummy but I'm not hungry:thumbup:
  8. Hi all! I was banded 2/25/09. I'm down @14lbs and I feel great. I'm still doing primarily soft foods (creamy soups for the most part). I had a small salad for the first time this week and my stomach loved it. I feel like I can eat more food but I'm so nervous I would reverse the little bit of weight I've lost. My first fill is coming up on 3/30/09.
  9. :smile:Hi all! I was banded on 2/25. The first week on clears I got 300-500 calories/day and was starving. The week on full liquids was alot better. I'm on soft foods now, eating mostly beans, soups, carnation instant breakfast some mornings, occasional cup of coffee, gatorade (for workouts), occasional crackers and 3 bottles of water/day. Since I've been on soft foods I'm no longer hungry. I'm probably getting @700 -800 calories/day. I love working out and probably workout 4-5 days/week. I have vowed not to get on the scale too freqently, so 3 days ago I was down 10lbs.
  10. I'm 3 days postop and can't tolerate anything more than clear liquids. I was able to drink apple juice yesterday, had a popsicle today. My pain level has lessened quite a bit and the gas pains are gone.
  11. The awesome day for me is 2/25:thumbup:
