    I need a place to put my numbers in so I can keep track of where I've been and where I want to go. Sometimes when I feel down, I need to just look at the good work that I've done and that will help me feel like I'm doing something right !

    It is now been 2 months since my surgery and everything is going o.k. I haven't lost a big amount of weight but I knew when I started this journey, that this is the way LB works. As long as I lose, no matter how small the loss, I will be o.k. with that. I have lost 34 pds. and you know,really that is a pretty good start! But I think that the most important thing is that I'm learning some things on this journey. I have learned that I can make good food choices, even when I eat out, I have been trying new foods and you know what, they're not that bad! (Example) I'm from the South and as you might know, we fry EVERYTHING down here, I have learned grilled or baked fish isn't bad at all! I have learned, also, that I don't have to have something sweet to eat!! I still eat something sweet every now and then, but I don't go overboard with it! I have learned how to eat without bread, although to be honest with you, I still have a problem with hush puppies! So I don't make them too often! But, all in all, this has been a learning experience for me and as long as I'm losing, I going to enjoy all the compliments and the cloths that I can,finally, wear AGAIN!! :sad:

    Well, it's been a little over a month since i have been banded and I don't regret one day of it! When I first started this journey, I really didn't think I would be approved and when I was approved, things really started moving fast then! About one wk. before surgery, I began having second thoughts like " What are you doing? " and if you would just try harder, you could do this yourself. But , you know I have been over weight for the last 35 yrs. and if I could have done this on my own, I would have done it 34 yrs. ago! So I am so glad that I have done this, because, even one month out, I already feel better, health wise and I feel better about myself! I am a happier person now! And now that I have had this banding, I know I can do this because I have help, if I work at it, it won't just drop off without some effort on my part![/url]



     
     
     
     
     
     

  4. Good Morning All !! Well I'm on day 3 and I'm still a little sore but I know that will get better with time! I did sleep better last night, I wasn't awake at 3:00 in the morning, so that is a definite improvement! I'm off the clear liquid and on to full liquid, cream soups, protein drinks, cream of wheat(YUM YUM!!!!) but I guess if your hungry enough,you'll eat just about anything(except for cream of wheat!) But this morning, I woke up with a headache so I had protein drink with a Tylenol crushed up in it. Not to bad!! I did take my bandages off yesterday and the staples really didn't look as bad as I had imagined! I think maybe there are about 15 and some of Thom are lose now so it won't be bad when they come out. Thanks, LL and Cali for the kind words, I guess you can say I'm sort of a baby when it comes to things like this, or that's what my family says!!     Someone found me out!! But that's o.k. I teach 5-8 yr. olds on Wednesday nights at Church and of course. I didn't feel good on that night so I called an older lady to take my place and my grandson ( Bless his heart! ) requested prayer for me cause I had surgery and I was cut all the way from my stomach to my leg!! Well, you can imagine her reaction! She began asking questions and of course, my daughters wouldn't say anything! Well, we had a Ladies meeting last night, I still didn't go, and Dear Sis. Doll, just would not let it drop!! She began asking my girls more questions and there was no way out of it, they had to tell ( after all, they were in Church, and we all know how God feels about not telling the truth!! ) so after everyone discussed my well being, it was time for a little confessing! Come to find out, the same lovely Sis. Doll, has a sister that goes to our little
    Church, and she is just beautiful!! She is so tiny and petite, classy,and so cute,well she had by-pass about 30yrs. ago! She kept telling her sister,Doll, to hush up, that it is a personal decision and it was the best decision she had ever made in her life!! So IN YOUR FACE, Sis. Doll, I really do love her, but she just needs to know when to leave things alone!! :thumbup:
  6. :thumbup: Hey everyone!! I'm out of the hospital, my hubby wanted me stay all night instead of coming home so I got home yesterday around 1:00p.m. I didn't wake up from recovery until 6:00 p.m. and he was nervous about me coming right after, so I stayed and was stuck with needles all night, checked my tempt all night, came in and, honestly, woke me up just to find out if I was in any pain!! So, why would I want go home and miss out on all that!! But I guess they were just doing their job! But anyway, so far I've not been sick and no problems with the gas built up. I've been walking around quite abit and I think that helps a whole lot! I'll be on liquids again today and then tomorrow, I'll be on soft foods. I go back Tuesday to get my staples out, I kinda dread that, I never had staples before! :thumbdown: But "they" say that their better than stitches, I just hope "they" know what their talking about!

    Hey everyone!! I'm back from my Branson trip!! It was so good , I didn't really want to come home, but as some one said, All good things must come to an end. I did go out 3 times to eat at a restaurant, and made good food choices and I did eat my proteins first, so I think I'm learning something!! :biggrin:
    I go the Dr. tomorrow so I really had no choice but to do good!! I sure didn't want to mess up all my hard work from the last few weeks !! Talk to ya later!!

    :thumbup: On tha road again, just can't wait to get on tha road again !! Good Morning All !! Well I'm off for 3 days in Branson, Missouri !! All the ladies in our church are going ( no kids, no hubbies!!! ) I'm bunking with my daughter and 2 of her friends and all 3 of them are CRAZY so I know I'm going to have a blast!! I have to go Tuesday,3-31 to see tha "MAN" so I'm really going to have to watch what I eat, and I haven't told any of my church friends about my surgery so I'm definitely going to have to watch myself! I have all my protein drinks along with my bars( Boy!! Can't wait to digg into THEM!! ) But any way, I'll keep you informed on how I am going to survive this wk.end !!!
  9. Well time is rolling on! When I 1st started this, back in Aug. 08, I thought I would never see the end. It HAS been an experience :thumbup: Tomorrow will be 1wk.,I go see my Dr., then 2wks. my surgery!! I'm not to nervous right now,I'm the type of person that if I have to do something that is unpleasant, I just want to do it and get it behind me!! I 'm still on the pre-op diet and was really doing good until last nt.,we had potluck at Church and of course, everyone wants to bring their best and trust me, there was nothing healthy there!! So I just got a small portion of most of the chicken dishes,there was some veggies there but they were fryed ( I'm from the South and we fry EVEYTHING down here! ) So I hope I didn't do to bad! Well, I gotta go,I'm going fishing for 1st time this yr, I LOVE fishing, and I'm taking 3 of my grand kids,15, 8, and a 4 yr. old, probably won't get to fish much, but it will be fun anyway. :cursing:

  10. A miner setback

    I've had a minor set back, I hope it's minor! One of my tests came back bad so now I have to take some meds, retake the test 04-03 and if it is stillbad, I can't have the surgery untill I get a good test!!:sneaky: I have to take 8 pills a day for 14 days and thats not counting my vit. No wonder I'm not hungry, I'm full of PILLS!!!!!! So here's hopeing this will work out alright!!

    Today I have 3 more wks. to go before my surgery! :thumbup: I go the Dr. in 2 wks. and then 7 days later I heve my Dr. I can't hardly believe it! It has been a LONG prcess!! So far I'm doing pretty good on my pre-op diet.

    Here it is day 2 of my pre-op diet and my head hurts, I'm hungary and I lost an hour of sleep last nite but other than that I'm having a wonderful day !!!!!!!!!!

  13. Yesterday I went to the Dr. and hospital for all my lab work and tests, boy, I sure didn't know so much had to be done! All that thick,nastey stuff I had to drink!:w00t: But now that is behind me and now I can start on my new and exciteing journey! I sure could use a LB buddy about now! So if anyone one is just starting thier new life,get in touch with me. My surgery date is 04-06-09, so this is just my pre-op diet.
  14. :w00t: Tomorrow I start my new life by going to the Dr. for my consult, and my lab work and upper G I. I am 55 yrs old and soooo ready to feel good again ! In a way I'm excited but then in a way I'm sort of nervous. So SOMEONE OUT THERE,Please, wish me luck !

    Hey, everyone ! This is my first time to blog, in fact this is my first time on the web site and I am so glad I have found this !:thumbup: I don't know anyone personally who has had the LB so I'm depending on you guys for support ! I go 3-06-09 to the Dr. to start my diet and then on 4-06-09 I have my surgery. So I will be on here as much as I can for all your help and guidence !
