  1. Hi. So after reading your posts...I guess I have to swallow my pride and go get ANOTHER fill! I mean really...we didnt all spend $15,000 to be sitting here on the slow losing thread right?? It is great to know I am not alone but DAMMIT if I didn't predict this! I read these forums BEFORE making the final decision to have the surgery....I saw this forum and said to myself..."man, I hope I don't have to relate to this one." Ok...so here I am...thank goodness you exist!! I hope to report a decent weight loss next post! thanks guys!
  2. wow...ok cool so I think I feel a smidge better but here is a problem. I was banded jul of 2006...by Dec I was down about 40 pounds. Here I am now in Feb and I have GAINED 11 pounds!!!! WTF??? Seriously, i have been filled twice and am way too ashamed to step on the scale or go to the doctor and check for another fill. I have just been eating a bunch of bad stuff bc it is the easiest down the shoot ya know? OH THE IRONY!!!! When you are just a fattie trying to diet, you can eat all the healthy stuff you want. When you are a fatty post lapband, the healthy stuff is too hard to swallow.... Oh help!!!! HELP!!! Any suggestions??
  3. wow! wHAT A GREAT THREAD! I also went to go see Dr. Spivak on a reference by my GP. He really was great but I just am not sure if I want to sacrifice NEVER again being able to eat certain foods OR maybe not losing weight OR having to suffer the chance that my FRIENDS will think that I have CHANGED since I am thinner now and not want to be with me when really it is their jealousy that will be the reason. I REALLY THINK IT WILL ALTER SOME OF MY FRIENDSHIPS. Please help and let me know if any of you have had these same issues. Thanks!

  5. great info girls! By the way, i am 29. I think I am getting alot closer to making a decision....I just CANNOT imagine NOT being the FATTEST bridesmaid anymore!!!
  6. fantastic question! as a fellow potential wls patient, that was a HUGE concern of mine. Also, I find it pleasantly surprising that many of you have had the wls and NOT told your friends! I am VERY MUCH trying to figure out how to handle that! Thanks for your comments!!! I will make a new thread for a major social concern I have once I am potentially banded. stay tuned! this site is GREAT for q and a!
  7. Hi there! Since I am new to this forum and---as you may have read-- know that I am considering this procedure, please give me a quick run through of all these abbreviations What is PB---it sounds like I should be scared of that WLS is weight loss surgery I think, right? Please list what you know as I go through and see them, then I will be in the club too :cake: THANK YOU!
  8. I am seriously considering the lap band but feel VERY confused. WAY too many social and mental issues right now to schedule. I am really trying to absorb as much as I can about this so this is a big concern: IF I do this surgery, amazingly lose even 60-80 pounds....wil I hate my boobs?? Will I need an augmentation?? I don't want implants but I dont want to be ashamed of the ONE thing I have been ok with on my body as a large girl after the band. I don't want to trade my fat body loathing problem for a saggy skin body loathing problem. :phanvan They aren't even that big, I wear a 42 B but in some bras that is a little big. 42 B cup is close to a DD in "normal sized bras. I would say i am a small C in a regular bra but I don't fit in that bra band so i buy 42 C chubster bras. The doctor I consulted said that judging from the way I look, I should not have a saggy skin problem but he couldn't answer the boob question for sure. I weigh 247 pounds and would be ecstatic to get to even 170-180! Haven't weighed that since the SIXTH GRADE! Please reply with some help! :cake: Thank you! :help:
  9. that was fantastic! THANK YOU for your reply. I will look out for more replies. Also, I LOVE AUSTRALIA! I was there for 4 weeks in january...mostly Melbourne and Sydney. I Almost did not make that trip because I was ashamed to see my family as such a chubby. i told myself that i will just have to hate my weight while I am there but at least i WAS there!! Best trip of my LIFE. Maybe I will get some info to help me make this decision and then come to Aus as a HOTTIE ON THE BEACH!!! (now THAT is something hard to imagine!)
  10. i tried to post this as a new thread but it ended up pasting to the replies that tagged on to Paul's email about " the truth". I need to hear the dirty details. I am considering it but just am trying to go through the negatives...not medically but socially. Please read my thread reply for all the details. also, THANK YOU for your help!
