  1. Remember to drink plenty of water, but not with any food, try eating things high in protein, that will satisfy you longer, lastly, you can always check with your surgeon, to see if they will allow you to eat something from the next phase like eggs, or cheese
  2. My surgeon had me on pre-op Atkins diet for 2 wks, sam e theory though, to shrink the fat around your liver, the reason they told me was that fatty livers tend to bleed, and that can cause further complications, I did Atkins for 12 &1/2 of the 14 days, but I also let the Dr. know what I had eaten at my pre-admissions testing. I am 3 days post-op, home, able to move around well.....the worst thing for me was drinking the barium liquid the morning after the surgery, and it's not pleasant coming out either/almost like preparing for a colonoscopy.
  3. Thank you! -- I was kidding with my husband that the surgery didn't work, well that was funny Thurs, and Friday, but I really expected the fluid retention to leave by today, I am up & moving around as much as I feel comfortable, you know doing laundry, dishes, went to the grocery store, etc...so I'll give it a few more days before I get to concerned.
  4. I was banded Feb 4, 2009 -- hopefully that's close enough, I posted a question but haven't gotten any answers....I was up 10 lbs when I came home from the hospital 2-5-09, as of 2-7-09 I am still up 4 lbs from my pre-surgery weight.....did any of you experience this?
  5. Okay.....just had surgery 2-4, did fine, feel pretty good, on full liquids, trying to drink water etc.....my question is, when I came home from the hospital I was up 10 pounds! --- as of today 2-7-09 I am still 4 pounds heavier than my weight before the surgery at the hospital...initially I thought it was fluid retention from the operation, but enough is enough, I am eating (or should I say - drinking) very little, today I had water about 20 oz, yogurt, and a little tomato soup...I'm not really hungry, but did anyone else experience weight gain right after surgery?
