  1. Hi, just thought I would introduce myself. My name is Judy and I am a Tulsa realtor also! I haven't been banded, but am in the process of the six month diet required by my insurance company. Looks like it will be March before I can have my surgery. I plan to use Dr Fisher with Surgical Associates. I read some of your posts and it looks like you are doing great. Is there any kind of support group that you attend? I haven't even gone to a seminar yet, so I guess I will learn all about it when I do. Anyway, it sure is nice to know there is someone near me who has undergone the surgery. Judy
  2. Thanks for the input! I am still really nervous about having the band and the follow up's. I just watched a video on YouTube showing a fill being done!
  3. Can you have alcohol after the band. I realize I won't be able to have a drink until the band heals, but what about later? I do enjoy a margarita or two...;o)
  4. Thanks for your advice. I'm still thinking about the whole thing....;o)
  5. Hi to All, I am 55 and seriously thinking of the lap band. My question here is, how does the lap band differ from all the diets I have tried in the past? I can stick to a diet for a few weeks or maybe even a few months (2 or 3) only to fail and gain any weight I might have lost back plus a few pounds. Thus, the weight I am now. I worry that I will "work the band" for 2 or 3 months and then be back in the same boat I was in. If I were to "work" the diets I have tried in the past, I might not be in the place I am now. Make sense? Obviously, my problem is not sticking to or "working" the diets. How is this different? I appreciate any insight. Looking to lose 100+ lbs. Thanks for your input!!!
