  1. WOW how interesting. Yes please keep in touch. I am not sure how to add you as a friend. Happy Birthday to you also. I loved turning 30. I am a little weird I know. I will start keep track of my calories. A friend suggested following weight watchers. I might try that. Only I learned to cheat at that A LONG time ago. This time around I dont want to cheat myself. Thanks for the words of encouragement. Good luck with your first fill.
  2. Thank you for the support. I really did not want to seem all whiney. Its just hard. I really really need/want this to work for me.
  3. okay. Well that helps. Its just hard. I thought I would have a little bit of restriction or something. I really just do not want to gain back any of those hard lost pounds. I have even thought about doing the pre-op diet again. Just till I have some restriction.
  4. Thank you I will start exercising ASAP. Its crazy, I dont want to mess anything up. This is my last chance at being healthy.
  5. Hi. I was banded on Jan 30, 2009. I had my first follow up on Feb 16 2009. At that time I had lost 14 pounds (with the pre-op diet that I began on 01-16-09 and the liquid diet after surgery). When I went to the doctor on 02-16-09 I told him I had NO restriction and he said that correct. I would get my first fill on my next visti 03-16-09. I can eat anything I want. If I had awesome will power then I dont think I would have needed the band. Now I am scared that I am going to gain back the 14 pounds I have already lost. I really do not know what to do. I want this to work. Now I am afraid that I have messed up the band and the pouch. I turned 30 this past weekend (had some drink) had some cake. Now I dont really know what to do or feel. I dont even feel like I have had surgery or that the band is even there. I know it sounds like I am whining and maybe I am. But I am really fustrated and agravated. Any advice and help would be appericated.
  6. I contacted my nutristionist (at my surgeons office) right after I posted the above. I was given the go ahead for mushey foods. eggs and tuna and poultry, with a couple of other things along with some new rules. I was so happy I almost cried. Seriously. So I suggest calling your doctors if you are having that much of a problem. My only problems so far is I seem to have a lot of gas all the time. So gas ex has become a daily standard. and some pulling from everything healing. So i cut up some chicken very tiny and added it to my chicken broth. I am gonna start slow. I really want this to work. but will power is so not my strong suit. If it was then Wouldn't i have lost the weight before?
  7. I am in the same boat as you. I was banded on 01-30-09 and the first week was okay, but this week i am starving (today in particular). i go to the doctor on Monday 02-16-09 and right now I feel as if I would rather stay big then go thru this. I feel no restriction at all. All those feelings you are having I am having.
  8. Thanks for the great words of inspiration. I am trying. I just realized everyone thought I was taking the easy way out! and I just realized that I didn't.
  9. okay. you are all such an inspiration to me. I am only 1 week post-op today! Very new to the site. Any advice you guys - who have all done AWESOME - can give? please do. Thanks..
  10. Hi! well as of right now I am 1 week post-op. I was banded Jan 30 and in surgery from 9:40 till 10:07. I am having a hard time with still being on an all liquid diet. Any suggestions?
  11. Thanks for the great advice. I do not go back to the doctor till feb 16 @ 11:15. I am trying to get all my fluids in. I am also trying to take it easy, but that is not really in my nature. I am off of work and want to do everything. I am still having alot of gas pain and think everything would be much better if that would go away. LOL.
  12. Hi. This is my first post. I was banded Friday 01-30-2009. I would apperciate any advice that can be given. I got thru the hard part. I was scared to death of the surgery and that only took about 27 minutes. I checked into my hospital at 7:20am and I was home by 2pm that very same day. I am sore but thinking thats mostly from the gas. I lost 8 pounds on my pre-op diet. So my starting weight was 251.6 and when I weighed in on friday it was 243. I am looking for any help or any advice that anyone can give. this is my first post and I am still learing the sight. I wish everyone luck. I am in Jacksonville FL.:tongue2:
  13. my surgery is in 3 days. 013009 - I am the same as you have to get past the food. I already miss food (pre-op diet). Yet at the same time, I think I finally hit rock bottom. It bothers me, but not as much as I would have thought. Food is my addiction. So all of a sudden, I am giving up my comfort, my addiction and something I love. I am scared to death.
