  1. Pneumonia after surgery??

    Hi, I just wanted to tell you that i had gastric bypass surgery on Jan 12 2009, was released on Jan 13th. I woke up the next morning with fever and shortness of breath that kept getting worse. Called doc and they told me to go straight to ER. I was admitted back in the hospital with double pneumonia caused by aspiration into my lungs during surgery. I was just released from hospital yesterday Jan 17th. So it if definitely possible to get pneumonia post surgery. I am still on the mend, but glad not to be in the hospital! Take care of yourself!
