  1. I had surgery 3/5 and still had horrible gas pains in the afternoon and evening a week later. Milk of Magnesia was a great help and Maalox Advanced Maximum Strength even though it has less simethicone than the Gas-x strips was a life saver. I found the Gas-x strips offered little relief. I just kept the bottle of Maalox with me at all times. I think the thing that helped the most was moving to a soft diet...cottage cheese and egg salad never tasted so good and the results of eating something was a great reduction in gas. I have been gas free for 2 days...but I am eating more solid type foods but have tolerated them well. I am not eating much and I feel full quickly but I am not waking up in the middle of the night in pain.
  2. Hi, I was also banded on the 5th. Things went better than I expected. I am on mostly clear liquids with 3 Optifasts a day and sf puddings. I have some gas pressure, but it is not horrible. I have been taking Tylenol with codeine for pain. I have tried to cut back today. I had a pedi on SAturday and totally enjoyed the massaging chair. I have a follow up appointment with the Dr. tomorrow and plan to go to work on Tuesday. Joann
