  1. Hello everyone, I am Babs and I was banded in Tijuana, Mexico on April 18, 2006 by Dr. Ariel Ortiz. The doctor and his staff were absolutely excellent as was the care my daughters and I received there. We did a family thing. Mother and both daughters banded the same day. We are all in awe of how easy the procedure went. We were up and walking within a few hours after surgery. The next day we were released from the hospital and went shopping that afternoon. I'd do it all again in a heartbeat! We researched and researched before making our decision. Both my daughters are nurses and we feel we have taken control of our destiny. It is not always easy, but it is doable, and the benefits are great. Best wishes to all, Babs
