Hi Deb! Welcome to the forum! I'm pretty new here myself, but I've already found some great people to talk to. I'm in Hawthorne by the way, so we're pretty close! I hope your insurance agrees this time - I'm waiting on the same thing.

It went well! He said that I was a good candidate and said I should hear back from their insurance coordinator within a week! Which of course, is WAY too long. He also said I needed a clearance from my primary care doc and an upper GI and a psych eval. I've got them all scheduled, as well as 2 mandatory seminars and as of mid February, I'll be all set and ready to go. As long as my insurance agrees!

I agree :wub: How far along are you in this whole process? I'm just starting, first consultation tomorrow!

Oh wow, you look great. 20 lbs in that small amount of time! I'm totally new at this, so I don't know if it's normal, but you definitely give me hope! We also have similiar builds and started out in kind of the same place. How tall are you? I'm very happy for you!

Hi, I'm a newbie, this is my first post and really, my first time on here. I'm just starting to think about getting the Lap Band (my consult is next Tuesday) and I wanted to talk with people my own age (I'm 23). I weigh 215 and I'm 5'2". I have so many questions for you guys: How long does the process take from consult to surgery? How do you feel now? What's been the hardest part? What do you wish someone had told you in the beginning? How did your friends react? Did you tell only close friends/everybody/nobody? Thanks guys!
