Christmas Weightloss Challenge
I was able to lose those 2 pounds that I found last week. I'm sure I won't lose 9lbs. in 5 days, but I am happy with the weight that I've lost. Starting 235. Current 224.

Cookie exchange madness
I am one that loves to bake and give it away and so far I haven't given in to eating what I've baked. But I did make chex mix and oh my gosh, that has been the worst thing ever to have around. A small bowl here, a couple of handfuls there. It really adds up. I've been able to lose a pound, but it could have been more if I had just stayed away from it. We've also received 2 boxes of chocolate and a huge bag of m&m's from well intentioned friends and family. So far they have remained up opened  I am going to put them out on Christmas. My husband is inviting 6 of his single troops over for dinner. I'm sure they can take care of it so I won't even have to worry about it! Good luck to everyone this holiday season resisting all the yummy treats!

Christmas Weightloss Challenge
That is AWESOME! It must feel wonderful to be under 200! I am not going to make my Christmas goal, but I am happy with the weight that I've lost so far (minus the 2 I gained last week ). I hope to be under 200 by Valentine's day. That still averages out to a little over 3 pounds per week, but I've done it in the past. I'm sure I can do it again! Again, Great job on getting to onederland! Karyn

Christmas Weightloss Challenge
Thank you Rangergirl! I'm trying to just move past it, because the more I think about it, the more I sabatoge myself with food. What's done is done. Tomorrow is a new day! I can do this. I may not lose 20lbs. by Christmas, but any weight lost is weight that I no longer have to carry around with me. Thanks again. I really needed that  Karyn

Christmas Weightloss Challenge
I am just going to get this over with now instead of prolonging it until tomorrow. I gained 2lbs. this week. It is the first time in the 8 1/2 months since surgery that I have gained anything. It was just a bad food week. It all started with a nacho craving that I just couldn't get out of my system and I gave in and it got me. I don't think I'm going to make the goal of 20lbs. by Christmas, but as long as I don't gain anymore, I'll be happy. Hope everyone else did better than me this week. :willy_nilly:

Plateaus...
Thank you for the responses. I already knew most of it, I guess I just needed to be reminded. I was denied a fill at my last appt. as well. I was really hoping for one to get through the holidays without too much temptaion. Today I was very glad to not have had that fill. I felt very tight today, could not eat much of anything. I am also just ending my period and I believe that may have something to do with my lack of loss in the past week and the tightness today. Thanks again. Keep up the good work and break through those plateaus!

Plateaus...
I was banded on March 27th of this year. I have lost 59lbs. I had issues with acid reflux early on that led to my band being emptied so as soon as I started solids, my loss stopped. After getting filled back up I was able to lose again. Then due to a vacation and a move to another state, I was unable to gets fills and I plateaued again. I found a dr. here got a nice fill, lost 10lbs, then stopped again. Stayed about 245 for about a month, then lost 14lbs. within 3 weeks. Now I seem to be at a stand still again. I don't change the way I eat during those times, I exercise the same. The weight just seems to be coming of in spurts? Is anyone else the same? Is this just my body's way of dealing with the loss and excess skin?

Wii fit anyone?
Step aercobic is my favorite as well. I've been thinking about buying the Wii fit plus, but wasn't sure if it was worth it. I have been convinced what it it  I also have the active one, but have not used it very much because the leg strap was tight, that was quite a few pounds ago though. I'll have to try it again. Thanks for all the responses. Karyn

Wii fit anyone?
That does help. Thanks! I always forget about the free step. I'll have to try it sometime. Karyn

when will I feel differently about me?
TracyNYC - Sound like we started at pretty much the same weight. I am also almost the same height as you. I measure about 5' 6 3/4" so I claim to be 5' 7" :tongue_smilie: As you lose weight and exercise you might find that you look differently than before. You might end up more toned than you were before. I wouldn't worry too much about the size you think you'll end up in. I set a goal weight of 160 and I believe that I'll be smaller than a 16 or 18. I know each person is different. That's just my opinion. Karyn

when will I feel differently about me?
I have to agree that it's all in your head. And the head of almost everyone who loses weight. I have been struggling with the same thing lately. I have lost 55 pounds, but I don't feel any different. I've lost 3 clothes sizes so I know there is a difference, I just don't see it. Keep up what you're doing. Keep energized and I'm sure eventually you'll see what everyone else is already seeing in you.

Wii fit anyone?
How many of you use Wii fit as your primary source of exercise? I find that Wii fit is all I have time for between my schedule, my husband and my daughters'. I'm wondering what length of time seems to work for everyone that keeps you still losing weight. What exercises do you find work best to get toned up? I aim for at least 30 mins. a day and I try to vary what I do each day. I do try to get in at least one aerobic and strength training in a night, but the others are just whatever looks good at the time. Thanks for your help :tongue_smilie:

So happy to be overweight
Good job with the weight loss! I, too, found myself excited when I dropped out of the morbidly obese category to obese. Now I am just 48lbs. away from over weight. Still seems like a big number, but I'm closer than I was 7 months ago :tongue2:

OK Oldtimers...Does the belching stay forever?
I, too, would LOVE to know the answer to this question. I feel like I'm constantly saying, "Excuse me" while I'm eating or drinking.

For those that have taken up running....
Thanks for all the replies! I love my ipod when it comes to exercising! It helps so much! I will definately have to look into the couch to 5K. I hope to some day be at a place where I can run for extended periods of time. Just the very little bit that I'm starting with helps me feel so much better. Thanks again for the responses and advice! ~Karyn

For those that have taken up running....
I think I should have clarified that with the 45 sec. "run" I also did 15 minutes of fast walking. I didn't just hop on the treadmill for 45 sec. I'm not tht out of shape

For those that have taken up running....
My weight loss has been at a stand still for the pas month or so. I have very little restriction which doesn't help. I've been using the treadmill for the past few days and it has been helping quite a bit. My question is, how quickly did you increase your running time? Like yesterday I ran for about 45 secs.(I know, not much, but it's a start), then today I tried for 50 seconds. It felt really good to be running, but my legs were quite sore. Did you all increase your time faster than that or is 5 secs. a day a good starting point? I've never really been one to like running so I'm not quite sure where to start. Hope this all makes sense. Thanks. Karyn

Chewable Biotin
Thanks so much for the replies  I actually found some 5000mg capsules at Walmart yesterday that I just open and mix with some applesauce or juice. Hopefully this works for me. Thanks again. Karyn
