  1. I only told a few people. I was afraid that the surgery wouldn't work and I didn't want to be embarassed once again when I didn't lose weight. After losing 40 pounds I was so excited I told everyone I came into contact with even complete strangers. Now, I am sort of regretting telling everyone because I feel the pressure is on for me to continue to lose the weight. I guess that can be a good thing to keep me honest. I wouldn't worry that you told people. Just remind them that it is not gastric and generally you will not lose 100 pounds in 3 months. Tell them it is a slow process and that should help reduce some pressure on you.
  2. Congrats on losing 100 pounds. I noticed you were banded on 02/05/09 how long did it take you to lose 100 pounds?
  3. I was there too. I was frustrated no one noticed my weight loss. Suddenly it starting happening people were walking up to me and saying "Are you losing weight?" I am four months post surgery. It will happen to you too. The one thing that really helped is that I bought new clothes. People didn't notice the weightloss because they said I was still wearing the same clothes even though they were two sizes too big for me.
  4. I agree it is a personal decision. I researched both surgeries for about a year and decided that the lap band would be the best procedure for me. I am four months post surgery. I am happy with the choice I made.
  5. It is so strange how this works. With restriction sometimes I feel like it is too much trouble to eat but I am trying to hang in there. It sounds like you have a solid plan so stick with it.

  7. I would check out the center for $95.00. If they are reputable go with them
  8. Thank you all for responding. I will try to stay positive through this process.
  9. Thanks, you have been helpful. I get a fill on 01/19/2009. I guess I am expecting failure which is the wrong attitude to have.
  10. This is my first post. I have gotten a lot of useful information from this site. That is why I decided to make this post. I am so discouraged. I was banded 12/02/2008. I lost 22 pounds the first two weeks. Since that time I have not lost anything. I am wondering if this is just another failed attempt to lose weight. Have others felt this way and did things turn around for you?
