  1. Hi, I am scheduled for surgery on the 15th of Jan. getting real excited! Time is not flying fast enough for me! I am on the pre-op liquid diet and have lost 5lbs. in two days.
  2. Jasmine, I have not had my surgery yet, it is scheduled for the 15th of Jan. I have had other surgeries, and I can tell you I don't remember a thing about the day. The anesthesiologist gives you an amnesia drug, so you won't remember most of what happened. Is it worth it...to have a family...Yes, I think it is! being nervous is natural but it sounds like you have the support you need from your husband! I wish you the best!
  3. SunnyRachel, Thank you, I will try to keep everyone updated! I just wish it was tomorrow! Kandi
  4. I have thought of this step for a very long time. It was not like I was afraid, more like how could I afford it. Luck me I quit my job and needed to pick up my husbands insurance instead of the one that I was on at work (that would not cover the surgery). I looked up what was covered and there it was 100%. I got really excited and scheduled an appt. with my new doctor to discuss my options. She was great and set me up for any referral I might need for the surgery. When I actually scheduled the appt. with the surgeon I was one step ahead. I spent my adult life very over weight in reaction to the abuse that I had as a child. Resolving all of my childhood issues I now need to get rid of my protection, my weight! I wanted to be ugly and not attractive to any man, not that it worked! (I have been married 20 yrs) I am 44 yrs. old and I want to reclaim my life. I want to be able to walk without being out of breath after a few steps, I am also tired of the joints hurting so much. I know all of this will change! I have taken my first step to that change! Thanks to new friends to be! Kandi
  5. I am right there with you...I will have my Lap-band surgery on the 15th of Jan. Your blog says a lot! I made my decision to check into the surgery when I had gained so much weight back after I quit smoking. I have the high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and was told that I am a diabetic after seeing the surgeon. I know that I need to make the change for me and no one else! Kandi

Hi everyone, My name is Kandi and I will soon be banded on the 15th of Jan. A friend told me of this web sight and I got excited thinking there would be more people to talk to. She will know who she is when I say that the chat room would be to confusing for me. It was...so many people talking and trying to keep track of the conversation. I am excited about the change that I am going to go through. I started my liquid protein diet preparing for surgery. The great thing is I still have to cook for my husband! I don't think he knows or understands! Hope to meet some of you! Kandi
