  1. Thanks for the help with the graphics....will have to see how it looks and wether or not I got it all in there....LOL I am getting banded on tuesday, and have been on the liquid diet since this past tuesday. I get 3-4 slimfasts and a salad with some chicken in it...and a bit of broth (no cal, no sodium/no nuthin'!) I will be having the surgery where I work, Doctor's Hospital in Augusta, GA. From what I hear, there will be 4-5 incisions, including the port one. How you were able to do it all with one incision is great...was it an open or laparoscopic procedure? I walk alot already, and joined the neighborhood rec center where they have an indoor walking/running track, so I do not see where I will have any problems with keeping up my activity. I GUESS <sigh> that I will have to do some weight training at some point to tone and try to avoid the "droopies" of skin later on! Good luck and don't get discouraged! Your weight loss is wonderful!
  2. BTW....how does one create all the cool "visual aids" on the bottom of your posts i.e. the weight loss graphs and info on the banding dates, etc.... I have looked at the Users CP, but did not see anything that pertained....am I missing something??? I would like to be able to post my progress, too!
  3. Augusta, GA area here....although I live just across the river in SC, I work and spend most of my time in Augusta. I am having my surgery on the 31st of March...3 days away! GAWD! Is it FINALLY happening??? I am excited and scared at the same time, although I am assured that this is normal...hehe. Good luck to you all that have or are going to have the surgery, and throw a little of that luck back my way, too!
  4. "Melting March" sounds good!.... I am to be banded on the 31st....right at the tail end, but PROUD to be a March Bander! Now...thats a good name, too....March Banders!:tongue_smilie:
  5. I have a tentative date for my LapBand on Feb 10. It seems that things are just falling into place and moving along quicker than I thought they would. I sure do have thoughts about not being able to chow down on a big steak dinner...BUT...I can still have the steak...just not as much and chewing real well! I have to keep thinking about how miserable I am at this weight and how I know that this will work...with alot of work on my part, too! I see it as being a chronic nail-biter and then getting acrylic nails. In no way would I bite the nails that I paid good money for! The same with the lap band. I do not see myself sabotaging the plan just to have the steak or the burger...mmm! (bg)
  6. Hello! I have just started in this process and there is alot of good information on this site! I am hoping to have all my pre-op stuffs (sleep clinic, upper GI, psych consult, etc...) completed sometime in January and (hopefully!) getting the show on the road and scheduling the surgery for Feb or Mar! I am excited! For once I will be able to lose and manage my weight for the rest of my life! I live in SC and am having the surgery in GA at the hospital where I work. Any others in the Augusta/CSRA area please feel free with the advice! Good luck to all others on your adventure! Kathleen
