daqui26, I went to WalMart and picked up Body Fortress SUPER advanced WHEY PROTEIN DRINK ,it's net weight is 2pounds and plain vanilla ,they do have different favors. I also started stocking up on Special K PROTEIN DRINKS they taste great:thumbup: ,with the powered drink (Vanilla) it contains from 2scoops per serving 4grams of fat 5 grams carbs 52grams protein 4grams of total fat Now if you use one scoop just cut the grams in half ,I hope that helps .I can't say I have tried this one yet ,but I will next Monday.By the way Congrats to you and I wish you the best in your success with the tool that will help us all .

I will keep my fingers crossed for the both of us today . I just had my CPAP test done last night that yuck they put in your really is so hard to get out . I guess I will be staying overnight when I have my surgery,cause of the machine. I don't really mind that because it gives me more security in knowing I will be in good hands ,and be able to relax (4year old grandson at home ) lol who just loves to climb on me ,and us my stomach as his personal pillow . I guess I'll have to buy him an extra soft one now (LOL). Well Please let me know when you find out your date and time .

Congrats are in order for you Treesa,I'm so excited for you .How do you feel today and how did you feel right after surgery? Myself I'm a whoosie when it comes to pain ,but I will learn how to deal cause living the large life has been hell on it's own .I should be having my surgery sometime in Janurary (happy)!!!! dance !!!! Who did your surgery and do you live in New York or else where I live upstate New York and have Dr. Pucci out of Goshen New York . I had to go through 3months of doctor visits and testing as soon as I got home from my consult I called my insurance company to make sure I had coverage for the Lap-Band ,and was told yes then I made all my calls and did it all within 3 months .Please let me know how you are ? I'm very intersted in knowning,I also hope your feeling good and are happy with your new band .

Good Morning Desi, Thank you for your prayers I believed they helped ,because I did get approved . I called my insurance company yesterday just to check on all my paper work ,and was given a reference number ,and told to call my surgeons office. I was so worried that something was wrong that I called .That's when Ann (office manger ) told me I was APPROVED. I was so happy I started the fat dance (LOL),my grandson was standing in the living room looking at me like I was a weirdo (he is 4years old). After I hung up from her ,I grabbed that baby and danced him around the room till we were dizzy then fell into the couch,totally out of breathe. He then said "EASY GRAMA ,EASY " all I could do was laugh .I can't wait till I find out the date I go in that will be today.I told her my life rotates around the doctor as of today the sooner the better ,she just laughed and said"'how happy she was for me ". Now that I gave you my great news ,I want to hear about what's happening with you ? O.K. you have approval to have a consult ,after you meet with him he will tell you if your a good to go , but please check with your insurance company before you spend alot of money visiting all these doctors ahead .I spendt a great deal of money $50.00 co-pays to each one ,each time I had to go plus blood work and travel . I will say the sleep apnea test was the worst by far ,I had my CPAP test last night with all that crap they put in my hair (hard as hell to get out ) , and the nose mask indented my face and nose pretty bad ,then the chin strap oohh that made it so hard to sleep ,another reason I didn't write back right away . I really can't stress enough to go to every appointment ,get your weights ,and keep all copies of everything .Don't let nothing stand in your way family ,friends life in general.This is your life and if you don't stand up for your self no-one else will .When you call the insurance company for any reason get names times ,and dates (very important ) ,do everything the surgeon request of you . Best of luck and please keep in touch I'll be checking in on your progress the whole time .

Carolina mom, I really can't not get over the thrill of knowing that pretty soon I'll be a slimmer ,happy and most of all healthier person .Everyone in my family will benefit from this ,cause when mom's not happy I make it known and then they have to deal with me (LOL). I was so surprised have fast this went for me I started on Sept.28th 2008 ,I had to do 3months of going to the doctors and all the specialist ,but I got it done NEVER EVER did I think it would happen so fast .I don't know that date yet ,because when I called the surgeons office just to see if everything was sent and told the Wonderful news.I asked when ,and Ann (the office manger ) told me they would call back with a date because the doctor was in surgery as we spoke . I waited all day at home hoping he would call he didn't .That's ok ,I know this is going to happening now it's just up to him (Dr.Pucci). What ever time or date he gives me I'll be a happy camper . Congrats to you and I send you good wishes and hope to hear from you on how everything is going for you .

I've been approved!!! I'm soo excited ,and thrilled I can not contain myself. I really thought there would be something with my insurance that would stop me ,but NO everything worked out Great!!! The office manger sent my paper work out on Dec.22nd ,and was approved on Christmas Eve ,the office was closed and since it was a long holiday weekend .I received the words APPROVED !! this morning . I grabbed my 4 year old grandson and danced around my living room full of happy thoughts and tears of joy .I couldn't stop kissing him ,the poor baby had to tell me "easy grama ,easy. " I haven't felt this good on so long,I can only image what I will feel like in the months come . I have AETNA POS and I must say I have no complaints about them .Congrats to everyone on their up and coming NEW BEGINNING. Happy New Year !!!! What a great year this will be.

Hi Desi, I'm new here also and if you would like someone to talk to I would be happy to . I started my my quest to get healthier on Sept.29th . I find myself at the end (waiting for approval),or maybe just the beginning who knows with the insurance companies. I hope that you don't give up on this site ,I have found a a lot of information here, we could help each other . Sometimes people are just unsure of them selves and don't know how to start or reply to someone else. I find that happens to me ,so with that being said "Welcome " ,I hope that we can help each other along the way . I have my CPAP test tonight since I failed my sleep apnea test . Then I have to get my letter from my primary doctor .I do have one problem at the moment on Dec.22nd I did receive a phone call from the office of my lap band doctor telling me they sent in all my paper work .I did ask how ??? When they don't have the CPAP test results and the letter . I'm afraid this will hold up everything I have been working for since Sept.I can't understand why that was done. I was hoping to get my surgery in Janurary.What a GREAT way to start the New Year .I quess I will keep my fingers crossed and keep praying all works out for me and everyone who is working so hard at getting approved . I hope to hear from you and please keep your chin up ,I'm here if you would like to talk .

Hi Staci, I'm in the process of waiting on the insurance company to approve me .The office personal sent my paperwork in yesterday (scared as hell ) ,but I believe I will get approved. I do have lap-band in my policy I'm very lucky ,and grateful I do . Please check with your insurance first that will save a lot of heart ache just in case . I 'll be praying for you that it is ,I know how you feel I have lost up to 96 pounds on Weigh Watchers in 2005 only to gain it all back and have been struggling every since . My BMI is 41.2,and with all these test I had to go through I found out I have major problems ,and they will only get worst if I keep going the way I am . I have sleep apeana ,and I go back on the 29th for my CPAP mask . I have a hitial hernia (that will be repair during surgery) and really bad acid reflux (on meds). I also have really high blood press (on meds),and I have very poor knees (on pain meds) .I feel like I 'm falling apart ,I feel old and I have NO energy .This is not good for me since I have a four year grandson ,that I'm raising . I am a young grandma only 42 ,my life is a mess and I need to get a grip . I have not told many people only because I don't want to hear their negative additude. I found this site to be wonderful and very informative .I love reading everyone's success and what this has done to help them ,come back to living a healthy and happy life .My husband like yours is supportive, and is a slim build very active man who is willing to help me at all cost . There are days where he works 10 hour days and would come home and walks with me ,he is my rock . He loves me big ,or smaller just knowing I have him to stand by me gives me the strength I need to work hard and get myself together for the last time and keep it that way . I want to be able to play with my grandson ,and attend all his school plays ,karate classes, football,and baseball games . I want him to be proud of me and I don't ever want him to feel ashamed of me with his peers as kids can be harsh. I want my old life back before the weight took over my life (18 years ) I can't recapture ,but I can make the next 18 or more a whole lot better . I will be able to do things I have only dreamt of doing . I wish you all the best and hope everything works out for you on your jourany ,and I'm sending Christmas Cheer because there is always room for more (no calories for a second helping there).

Thank God I'm one of the lucky ones who do have this included in my plan . I have read so much on here how people do not check with their insurance companies first .I am grateful that I found this site before making my decision to go through with seeking out help . I just wished everyone who is looking for a healthier life style could get it through the insurance companies because in the long run it will benefit both parties .

I was wondering ,maybe you can help me .I am in the stages of gathering all my information .I do find myself in a pickle with a weight missing from 2007 . I have weights as far back as 1998 . I guess I never went to the doctors in 2007 (I don't remember). I do have weights from mostly Weight Watchers meeting and gyms from 2003-2006 doctors from 2008.I have a BMI of 41 something and sleep apena., high cholestrol, very poor knees due to weight and have had surgery to the right knee twice. I will be getting a cpap mask on the 29th of Dec (last test ) since I failed that test .I also have a hital hernia, and major acid reflux,I take meds for that and pain killers for my knees. I figured since 2009 is right around the corner maybe that weight can fill in where I'm missing 2007?????? Do you think I am running a good race with getting approved ,since you were missing a weight for one year .I have Aetna POS for my insurance, My primary doctor as well as the heart specialist I went to see both wrote letters of apprval stating this would benefit me . I'm getting really worried .I have racked my brain trying to think of any doctor I might have seen in 2007 ,and I come to a blank. Thank you
