    PS Surgeons in Houston?

I found him through a co-worker. His number is 713-271-9000.If you think Dr. Spivak is cute then you'll love this man. I have gone down 4 pants sizes since June 19, 2007. To be honest, I wish I had done the comestic procedure and forgot about the lapband because I had better results with the ps. Good luck with your journey!! YOu will be very pleased and glad that you picked him as your ps.

    Banded 3/22 New to forum

Hi, I was banded on March 17, 2006 by dr. spivak. The weight loss has been slow for me also. You see all the people on the board saying that they've lost 40-50lbs and were banded the same time we were. I'm wondering if 20lbs were water(not being funny) but even before my band i was active and I thought with the band it would enhance the weight loss a tad bit quicker but it hasnt. I'va lost only 18lbs. I'm starting to believe that this was not the right decision for me. I am self pay and for $15,000.00 and little to no weight loss since march--lets just say Im very frustrated now. Hell, I could have paid $5,000.00 more and gotten the bypass and well on my way. And for others that are reading this I dont need to hear its a tool blah blah blah I often wonder would you all would feel the same way if you shelled this kind of money out. Its easy to be positive and optimistic when your insurance paid for everything!! Needless to say, I hope the omipack works for you and I think I'm going to request it for my next fill to see if it makes a difference.
  6. I'm glad someone out there know what I'm talking about (the mini bypass). I've been banded since 3-17-06 and have not lost so much as 15lbs. I see that lots of members post rapid weight loss in short periods of time. I've asked on several occassions how did they loose the weight so quickly did they use diet pills, supplements, etc.? No one will respond. I've done everything, exercise, protein supplements, phetermine, 64oz of water daily. I'm beginning to think this was a bad idea and the only thing i've lost is time and $15,000.00.(my insurance didnt cover the procedure.
  7. Has anyone heard of the 30 minute mini gastric bypass? I know this is a lapband website but would like to know if anyone heard of it?

    stomach or band slippage?

I thought the same thing when i was first banded(that my band had slipped because i was able to eat a little more than jello). I was advised by my doctor that i would know if my band slipped because i would throw up everything i put in my mouth ie water, etc. so if he's not throwing up theres a good chance that the band has not slipped. Nevertheless, still followup with the physician for your peace of mind.
