    Soda soda soda

i was the biggest DIet Coke addict..My husband said Cocacola stock was gonna crash when i got banded and stopped drinking it.. I have been drining diet iced teas..and my new addiction is Propel....its a slightly sweetened flavored water with tons of Vitamins and minerals..the nutritionist at the docs office recommended it. I like the lemon flavor best. Its my new Diet Coke! dont confuse Vitamin Water with this. Vitamin Water is HIGH in calories. THis isnt to say that i havent fallen off the wagon..I have about 1/2 a diet coke a week, i dont keep it in the house, ill ;ick one up when running errands etc. ...i cant finish it and it makes me burp like crazy... diet coke was part of my bad nutrition pre surgery..and i really dont need it in my life now. My doc said no soda..and i guess he is right. also my 12 year old daughter was starting her own diet coke habit when i had it in the house..and she is too thin...but thats another post. Good luck kicking the habit. Diane

    Hello I'm a new member

hi first of all good luck with surgery i am sure you will be fine. I did not experince the gas much at all, but i did when i had a c-section, the best thing is to walk..and drinkin hot black sugar fee tea..(you an make it devaf if they have you off caff at first) I had a post op migraine that was the worst part of the whole thing for me, but they gave me strong pain meds and it helped. My advice would be go easy on yourself. I expected miracles from this..(in my head, i never told anyone) and it isnt..You will still have to diet and exercise and really watch what you eat...but you are going to feel sooo much better when the pounds start to come off. I was banded in september, getting my second adjustment this tuesday..and have lost about 22 lbs..(but i am on some medication that makes my metabolism a bit slow ) Everyone is different!!! Good luck with your surgery. Stay well. Diane N.J.

    Frist fill today, OUCH!!!

i have on;ly had one fill ...i had surgery on 9/8..one fill on 11/18..see doc on 12/18 and will see what he says about the fill. i have only lost 22 lbs..i expectred to be much more than that by this time. i was walking and havent been cause of cold weather..going to force myself to go tomorrow even if its cold.. and am looking into a gym..exercise is so key as far as the pain my fill was painless. im glad for that since i hate needes and pain...i need TONS of novacaine to even get a tooth filled..my body seems to absorb it too fast. anywy...hope everyone is doing well with all the holiday goodie temptations. Its worth it to say NO! Diane

    Frist fill today, OUCH!!!

hi, i had surgey on 9/8, have lost 15 lbs..had my first fill yesterday. It was painless. My Dr is an excellent surgeon and the whole procedure was smooth. I can already tell by what i ate for Breakfast that there is a difference. I feel much fuller after eating a fairly small amount of food. Im hoping the fill helps the weight loss speed up but as the leader of my lap band support group says..you cannot rely only on the procedures. What i choose to eat, and how much i exercise is key. Thanks.
