  1. Kelly, Thanks for the encouragement, I am waiting on a date as of now. I am already anxious and hoping to see improvements in myself like you write about. I am proud of you already and want to thank you for encouraging people like me who are scared but excited all at the same time. My patient advocate thinks my date will be in early December, I'll keep you posted! Keep up the good work! Danielle:thumbup:
  2. Hopefully, this week I will get a date! I am insurance, but they have not required any diets or anything before. I'll keep ya'll posted!
  3. Hey La gals! I'm Danielle and I live in Hessmer, La, (30 miles south of Alexandria) and I will get my official band date next week. Are there any support groups close to here? I will be banded in Lafayette, (Dr Stevens) and that is a little drive for a meeting only. I would appreciate any help. By the way I also have a 4 year old girl!! (I have a 8 year old boy and 3 girls ages 6,4,and 2!) Thanks!
  4. Hi Ksmith, Kady, and Brandy! Thanks for replying! I have a family member that has a band, and I have been watching her. I did'nt attend a seminar, but I just scheduled an appt with Dr Stevens in Lafayette. I met him on Tuesday and had a dietician speak with me and on Saturday I will meet the Psychiatriast. Then hopefully next week I will get a date! I am very anxious and scared all at one time, so maybe we can do this together! Brandy, I am soooo proud of you!! That is wonderful, I can only imagine 63 pounds gone!! I can't wait to be the Mom my children will be proud to have. Kady, I am also soooo proud of you, 22 lbs so quick! Please pray I can do this as well as you too. I live over an hour away from the support groups so I guess I will just have to use you guys!
  5. I am ofcourse gung-ho for my soon to be band, that will probably be late November or early December. I am anxious, and scared, but also hopeful and excited at the same time. I would appreciate any advice for ANYTHING, pre, during, or post band. My doc offered me the sleeve also, (pretty persistant), but I declined, (sorry sleevesters) I'm a nurse and ofcourse only see the possible complications. I guess I need some encouragement from the veterans who have succeded! I want to loose 100 # and I want to know the tricks of the trade to get there. So come on cheerleaders, help me out! Thanks, Danielle:wink2:
  6. Brie, I am in you're shoes too! I don't have my date yet, but it will possibly be the end of November sometime! I'm getting anxios as well. I definately need the band, because I am a nurse and am scared of the other long term effects of the other procedures! I am anxious about the post-op diet and I am also scared of "sliming", and "slipping", and "eroding", ( I guess I have researched this dang band to death) lol. I do have a friend that does really well, but I wonder about me! Let me know how things are going since we will possibly be doing this at the same time! BTW, those babies are beautiful!! Good Luck, Danielle:thumbup:
