Another surgery to say you had is gallbladder surgery. My mother had it and it changed the way she ate a bit, and she dropped some weight. It could just be that this surgery was "your wake up call" to better living. However, I'll go on record that I like telling them nothing. Because it's none of their business and it doesn't seem like a very friendly place to work. Best of luck to you.

I have this book, too. I went through it once before WLS on another diet, and it did help me a lot. It's very proactive - lots of assignments about your goals, emotions, etc. I think I'll dust it off again and have a look - thanks for the reminder!

Your starting weight is the weight you were YESTERDAY the 1st day of the new year. This challenge is only going to track this years weight loss. So I changed your stats to match. Now when you need to change your current weight just quote the last person to post, and change your stats, erase the quote markers and post. Should work. Is it TOM, or a few days before? That usually gets my appetite started, especially before. Are you getting in enough protein? It really does keep me satisfied longer.

Hello, 5'4 starting weight: 331 (11/2) surgery weight: 317 (11/16) current weight: 312 (11/23)

Sorry to hear about your troubles, Dragonangel. I bet a lot of the issues are from the pain pills. I was given a rx for vycadine and something for nausea the day of surgery. I only took 1/2 a vycadine the first couple of nights because it helps you sleep, and then I took tylenol during the day, and I haven't been nauseated at all. Talk to your doctor about switching pain meds, because I bet once you do, you'll feel better. Good luck.

Hey no one's mentioned it here, but did you have a sore throat for the first couple of days? I did, and it hurt way worse than anything else has. I know I had some sort of mask on, and perhaps a tube down my throat - does anyone know for sure? I didn't get much Fluid down for the first three days, and then it was just Water or broth. After that it was juice and broth w/ some Protein powder. Just today, day six, I'll probably be able to finish the day w/ 47 grams of protein. I started having some soy milk and cream Soups today - what a relief. Good luck to everyone - it's great being able to talk to someone who understands what I'm going through.

I think I'll do the same, so I don't starve to death.
